Optical Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

My Optical parking sensors have gone bonkers!

The dont seem to work at all... There a long beep when I flick it into reverse... the screen doesnt show the image of the car and no beeps or warnings are heard.

Help!!!!

Long beep means error in the system. Get someone with vcds to scan the car. Could be a broken sensor (good news) or a fault in the wiring (bad news)

I have this exact problem right now, error on the front left sensor. Switched the right with the left sensor, fault persists on the left side, so the sensor is fine but there is a fault in the wiring. Removing bumper next week to check the wiring loom for breaks....

I hope your fault is just a dodgy sensor, those are easily replaceable.

I had this a few months ago, fortunately just before the car came out of warranty.  Turned out to just be a loose connector in the sensor wiring, dealer reckoned maybe the bumper had been removed some time in the past and the connector hadn't quite been pushed back together properly.

Went to a mechanic n was informed that it was the buzzer that had failed... a 20 dollar piece of kit but about 1 hours work...

Apparently its a common fault with VW group of cars...

Will advise...
