Wet Carpet - A Pillar Leaking Not Door Seals

Remove the wiper linkage - I've done a guide on this so just search my posts.

NathG found your guide thanks to this thread resurrection (great guide by the way!), could you just confirm how you remove the 3 plastic clips holding the scuttle panel in place please?

Cheers!

  • Solved it about 3 weeks ago and its absolutely bone dry in mine now!!!!!!!.   I still don't know where the water was coming in even with an endoscope/inspection camera but i know what i did to stop

  • I'd check under the wippers grill. I've always had in there a mini ecosystem. The water was/is coming through the polen filter.

  • A 12v bulb on some wire would though.

Pull them out. They usually break so you might need new ones.

Have you acquired a wiper puller yet Kyle? They're not expensive, but I'd be happy to lend you mine by post if useful?

Hey wino, not had chance yet. We have a machine mart in Sheffield, so I will prob just nip there, only a tenner but other side of city to where i live/work so need to make a special effort. Avoided using the car today as after it coming back to life yesterday morning, it struggled to get up to 40 on way home. less than fun....

Its fine mate i'll buy one, its always worth having another tool in the arsenal. The offer is really appreciated though, you are helping me enough as it is!!!

  • 1 year later...

ours is filling up in the sameplace but on passenger side.

Surely the cavity is designed to take water as it is grommeted on either side?

Water will find its way in via the door check strap quite easily, as I have found with a hosepipe, my other fabia appears to let water in there too but stays dry on the inside.

I am struggleing to find the drain holes for this cavity tho, anyone got any ideas?
