And not long afterwards I turn up to the parking fun LOL. Eventually managed to get 5 Skoda's next to each other and protect our bodywork.

 

Many thanks for organising Steve it was a good night, apart from poor service from the restaurant, but it was great to meet so many Briskies.

Wasnt overly impressed with the Running Horse last night, ive been there many times before (about 2 years ago tho) and they had better service back then. 

 

Was surprised to see 6 Mk2 Octy police cars with the blues on hacking up Blue bell hill as i was leaving and down in towards rochester :S

Thanks for organising this Steve, it was a shame some of us had to wait so long for food, I can only speak for myself but when it did arrive it was very good.  Cooked, not warmed! I'm guessing they were totally understaffed for the Christmas rush but we all know how hit & miss the food can be at the normal venue if they're busy?

If you're on soft drinks, the unlimited refills make a huge difference to the cost of the evening.  I for one would be willing to give them a second chance for another meet, maybe not the next one though as I expect they'll be similarly busy and it would be a much fairer comparison to see what it's like on a normal Saturday night.

Going by what Kathy said about her xmas evening on Friday it was the same thing, wait for food but her food was not as nice.

 

Agree about staffing, i think it was Kitchen / Cooks, rather that waiting, as once the food was ready, as you said it was hot, & there were 3 waiting staff bringing out the food.

I bet if you ask other who are having xmas events that most of the parties with 10 + people get the same service no matter where they are.

 

Based on a couple of vitriolc comments I am VERY reluctant to do a specific xmas event again, I have no issue doing the normal monthly events as the food comes out as cooked & not all together.

It's not a job, so while your time and effort is appreciated, I can't see any point if you sit down to preordered food at 8:15 and eat at 9:45.

To be honest Steve I do not blame you at all for the event last night. You do a very good job at organising the event each month and it was unfortunate that the usual place could not accommodate us. After all last nights venue was my suggestion. I was thankful that you managed to push through Kieran's before he went into complete meltdown. We find it difficult enough with him on a 'normal' event without the added stress of a delayed meal. Please do not take our dissatisfaction personally all complaints are firmly at the door of the restaurant and no where else.

I'm sorry you feel that way Steve, as Cathy said, xmas events are the same over... processed food, long delays, crap service. I don't expect anything less and if its better than that, it's a bonus. Thats why my primary reason for coming along is for the company not the food at xmas events, you and Cathy included. As Martin and Karen said, any issues are with the resturant, not at all with you. I, like the others are very appreciative of the efforts you put in to make the meets a success, saturday included.

 

And besides, it was Martins fault, it was his idea....

We were at our works do at a Marriott not too far away and that was £50 a head for food, drink on top.

And the food was naff!! And served at different times on the same table! Needless to say a letter of complaint has been lodged,

So it doesn't matter where you go.
