I'm guessing the courtesy car will be a VW....best not be a Lupo.

Booked in for 2nd February in a town 30 miles from me and apparently I have to make my own way there. I'll be on to my dealership shortly to get that changed.

They only have two types of hire car, a Polo or an Up (shudder). She says it's booked as a Polo but things can change so said if it does change so will my booking and I won't be bringing it in. I'm not paying whatever I do a month to drive a bloody UP for 2 or 3 days.

She also doesn't know what they'll be doing (repair wise) as they haven't had the repair order from Skoda yet.

Raised a case with Skoda UK, who are currently investigating why it has taken this long as the work order was placed as the start of December. I should hear back by the end of the week. :)

About time, hopefully you will have this resolved, I suspect the fault lies with arnold clark, especially their warranty claims guy and find it strange that mine gets authorised for repair and your car is still waiting when both cars went into arnold clark on the same day.

I did say that to them and they're going to investigate it. So should be interesting!

I've only ever had positive experiences after getting Skoda UK involved so hopefully this should be resolved swiftly...they actually call you when they say they will aswell!

So after contacting Skoda UK their team just happen to be available on the 23rd (first available time with a courtesy car) to look at the spoiler. The moral of the story, if in doubt, complain!

Let's see what they say next Friday, although I can't see them saying anything other than "we'll repair it"....but the delay has me wondering if they will try to pull a fast one!

If they deny your claim then I'm happy to send my photos and claim number/reference through if you need it to show they have fixed others.

From experience with paintwork warranty claims. They usually take paint thickness readings to check for previous repair along with pictures for skoda techs to have a look at. Usually they are pretty quick to authorise repairs but it's usually down to how good your dealer is

Good to have as a back up, cheers mate!

UPDATE!

So Skoda UK finally came out to look at the spoiler (after I contact Skoda UK) and the update I got from the garage is there is no problem fixing this under warranty. When asked what they were going to do I was advised that they are going to replace the spoiler and then paint it. So the car is going o be off the road for "a good few days" (in Feb) which also gives them time to replace a leaking fog-light unit and a rattling seatbelt cover.

The next issue I'm going to have is if they try to give me a 1.2 petrol Fabia like I had today, which did the job but won't do for the amount of miles I cover, however they seemed open to giving my a Yeti which I'm keen to try out (for the good lady)

  • 2 weeks later...

Car is now with the garage and I'm running about in a white 1.0 VW Polo. They said it'll be a couple of days.

Love the parking sensors which also show the direction of where you'll travel in relation to the steering wheel. Had 10 minutes of fun turning the steering wheel watching the graphics move. Hate everything else about it.

Err, my vRS does that too... doesn't yours?  Or is it only because I've got Park Assist with the side sensors?  Can't imagine the Polo had that...

At least the garage have confirmed that I'll be getting a Rapid or Superb so no Polo's for me :)

Still waiting on the spoiler arriving from CZ but hey.

The Polo has front and rear sensors so must be something to do with that. My vRS only has the rear sensors as standard so I only get a graphic of the car but no graphics for where the path of the car will go....not that I need that being male

Try running around in a basic octavia for over 3 weeks due to the one you purchased being rebuilt due to manufacture problem. That's my deal.

Skoda UK again are hit and miss. I have been blatantly lied to about communication to me. I found they wanted nothing to do with my case. Mainly on the grounds that they know the car is dreadful but won't admit it. Letters in the post to autoexpress/autocar/ed China etc for this one :-)

Got the car back this morning. It was ready yesterday lunchtime but didn't have time to collect it.

Spoke to the bodyshop guy who told me they removed the spoiler, took all the paint off and started again on it rather than a new spoiler. The end result is great and they've got rid of the chips I put in it aswell so very happy. It's like getting a new car again as they were the only scuffs on the whole car nearly a year in (touch wood).

Nice one! :)

Excellent. Has any one had issues with the estate or is it just the hatches?

James that green is absolutely class on your car! I wish I had the guts to get it as it's beautiful..

The saga continues..... Finally got a call from Skoda (Linwood branch) to book the car in to get the spoiler sorted, and the date of this repair....bearing in mind I logged this back at the end of November......the 11th of May!! A full 6 months after a raised this issue. This is due to the body shop being too busy!

I feel another call to Skoda UK coming up.

What bodyshop are they using? Tell them to use another bodyshop as you have a few to choose from there is Mitchell inglis, Glasgow Audi or Arnold Clark Clark's own bodybodyshop. I'm sure there are a few others too

No worries the only issue with using the one closest to you is you may not get a courtesy car but skoda CS should be able to sort it
