Octavia TDI will not accelerate

Featured Replies

Can anyone please help with this.

Octavia TDI, 48000 on clock, 4 years old.

Starting fine, running fine most of the time but.....

twice this month lost acceleration, would not pull 65mph, no warning lights showing on dash.

Stop engine, started engine, all ok again, two weeks later same thing.

Fuel filter new, air filter new.

sounds like a maf sensor to me

As K says, sounds like MAF to me as well. :)

Infamous vacuum tube? Mine was sporadic till it really went south.....

I would agree I think MAF too but if it is I would think it would log a code.

As it's intermittent would it maybe be a loose connection?

Might be easier to check before buying.

Time to post it over into the Ask A Tech I would think.

I watched 'Wheeler Dealers' last night. They were working on a Range Rover. Same symptoms. Replaced the MAF, runs perfectly now. Try that. They are expensive I think!! :(
