Was thinking aboutw dpf delete, only worry is some people saying that it won't pass the MOT :/

Correct, it will not pass in theory,  but currently it is only a visual check of its presence. So if whoever does the delete simply guts the DPF and welds it back together along the top, it will look like its still present.

However it could all change, all they need to do is reduce the smoke limits still further for DPF equipped cars and it will fail the smoke test.

50-60 miles a day should see no issues with the DPF anyway until it becomes full with ash which is the by product of the DPF.

One minor niggle (some plank filled the oil level up too high resulting in warning light).

Other than that it sounds damn good for a diesel! Lovely exhaust note.

Wasn't there an issue with the D5's, if topped up as per the original instructions, then somehow ending up with a higher oil level than was a good idea?  There was, IIRC, revised guidance issued by Volvo which basically said never fill it more than halfway?

Perhaps Volvomeg will be along shortly to clarify.

Didn't know they did the little C30 with the D5 engine. Very nice.

Just looked up some videos. It does sound good:

I'm very tempted to go down this route, as I don't really fancy forking out for a DPF in all honesty!

Yeah the first of the Euro IV lumps suffered from injected diesel finding it's way to the sump and raising the oil level.

Most DPFs can be replaced it just costs lots.

Yeh I had the letter from the previous owner that noted this from Volvo saying it was a recall thing. According to the history this one's had the sofware update to help prevent it, and a lovely looking sticker put on the engine bay area saying what the recommended level is. Seems a bit of a retarded way of sorting the matter, just hoping that people fill the oil to the right level :/

The Audi is a company car VRSADZ, still got it but only have it occasionally now so needed something permanent.

nice did not fancy another vag diesel.

I would've got another Fabia VRS but just didn't want to get the same thing again! Was very tempted by getting an Ibiza Cupra TDI but they were all a bit ragged and modded to hell :/

Th don't see many c30 d5 especially tuned ones there suppose to be rapid. Whats fuel economy like

Yeh it was rare as proverbial rocking horse shizz! Especially to find one in manual. MPG isn't far off the Fabia tbh. Around town, country road non motorway driving I'm averaging about 40-41mpg (Spirited driving). On the 70mile motorway journey back from the dealer I averaged 58mpg so pretty happy with that out of a 205bhp lump :D

Comparing that to 24mpg I got from my old remapped 200bhp mk2 Seat Ibiza Cupra!

Yeah not bad for the power. They say dpf delete will increase miles per gallon by 10
