Recommend an error code reader

I couldn't find any recent posts.

What sort of boxes are you guys using?

Vcds ross tech micro-can cable for me. Pretty expensive to only use as a fault code reader but the added ability to fiddle with setting is a must have IMHO

Thought I'd jump on the back of this thread.

I'm wanting to check for stored fault codes on a 1.2tsi Octavia3 (yr13)

This is what I use on my Felicia, and also used it on octavia2

Just wondering if it'll work on Octavia3

REMEMBER

I'M ONLY WANTING TO READ FAULT CODES NOTHING ELSE.

Well it does work, but doesn't recognise the car as a VAG group vehicle.

Have OBDEleven, does some basic things, but to do adaptions it's subscription based.

I'm going to keep it for quick code reading if out and about as connects to mobile.

But going to get vcds for at home, as the yearly subscription for obdeleven would soon exceed it.
