Best tyres for Octavia VRS online with mobile fitting?

Featured Replies

As above. Can't seem to make my mind up. The car currently has Michelin Primacy 205/50/17 VR - I want the ultimate performance, esp. for the wet weather. Any suggestions much appreciated! Thanks all!

Generally most people change the size of tyre to 225/45/17 purely because of the cost....205/50/17 are more expensive.

Goodyear F1 GSD3 have good wet weather performance for a performance tyre.

Dry weather performance is good but perhaps not as much a Pirelli Rossos....IMHO.

Black Circles can arrange mobile fitting.

I read this thread with interest as I'm about to replace my "fronts". I'm pleased to have got over 30k from them but there's a good many motorway miles in there.

I've a standard Octy vRS '53 plate with Contisport Contact 89W 205/50/R17's on. The rear tyres are good. Would folk recommend staying with the same tyres, or is there a preferable make out there?

On the drive this a.m. I noticed that my good lady's Octy vRS Estate has 205/55/R16's on. Never noticed that before - spot the numpty that loves these cars but knows nothing about them!

Whilst I'm poncing free advice; any idea where I can get a replacement drivers (vRS) floor mat? Heel's worn a hole.

Thanks in anticipation and apologies for hijacking your thread, pietch.

Go to Browns of High Wycombe, ask for Paul and he can order a single vRS drivers mat, if he has not got one in stock.

Tell him it came from Gerry the oil man.

Depends on whether your requirements....longevity or performance?

Longevity then Michelin Pilot Sports or the Contis

Performance: F1, Rosso, Toyo Proxes, Bridgestone PP S03.

Cheers Skodi. Any idea on the "trade off" ?

Ive just paid 290 for 2 Michelin sports 205/50/17 which were on the car in the first place :) and im impressed so far

Goodyear Eagle F1's are very good wet and dry grip the downside is wear rate is a bit higher. I have them and grip is very good. Some people also like Toyo T1-R but I don't know much about them.

Aaquil.
