12v powers supplys

Featured Replies

Just tried to power some equipment and found that there is no power to the cigarette sockets (12v power), I've tried both the front and rear and non are working, I'm assuming it's a fuse, can anyone tell me where these fuses are and which is the correct one? I've looked in the manual and nothing is listed apart from the 12v power supply in the boot.

It`s fuse nr. 35, for both rear and front lighter. Nr. 35 is located in third row of fuses from bottom, fourth fuse from left. Or just start counting from the first one from upper left.

cheers what amp is it bcz it appears there isn't one in it?

Should be 25A.

Just for note, mine is European version. UK version might have all vice versa (counting from right upper fuse).

UK spec is also fuse location 35 in the driver side dashboard fuse box, and needs 25A rating.

It may well be the fuse but the sockets back and front didn't work on mine and the dealer found a wiring fault behind the rear socket. I had changed the fuse which was OK anyway. The one in the boot worked fine.

Good luck.

Just to update this thread, I found that there wasn't any fuse in the socket where one should've been, so I popped one in and the front two power points had power, but one thing I have noticed is that these power points stay on (with adaptors plugged in) even when the engine has been turned off, not sure if this is normal or it's a fault as in my other cars the power is cut off when you turn off or pull the key out.

Certainly normal for the front one to stay on...don't know about mid and rear.

All 3 power points stay on, all of the time.

I always wondered what the thinking is behind the 12v having power even with ignition off?

I quite like it, as can then charge the battery through the 12V socket rather than connecting leads up to the battery.

Also useful for running security dash cam when leaving car parked.
