Thermostat playing up after replacement and no time to get it looked at.

Car will heat up and stay at 90, but when moving and air is running through, temp will go down. :-(

That's what mine is doing and I believe my stat is faulty?! It's in for replacement as we speak. As BJB said, the stat being stuck open is not really an issue for a trackday. As long as there are no leaks after fitting the new stat I would still do it.

I know there are no leaks... the thermostat and the CTS were replaced together last week.

I m sure you will maintain a steady 90'C if you are pushing on, worst case scenario ECP will deliver and we can change the thermostat

Did you fit a genuine CTS ?

All came from TPS, fitted by someone far more trained than me.

I know the aftermarket ones are a waste of time.

In that case, assuming there is no air locks, then your new stat is faulty

That is the conclusion we have come to.

Will be having it replaced again. It gets to temp fine when stationary or when there is little airflow.

Would air locks cause that kind of symptom?

Unlikely but it is possible.

 

I'd go with a dodgy stat tho tbh.

What's everyone's plans after the day? Last time as Brands a few of us went back to a local place and grabbed an evening meal had a chat and laugh then made our way home.
