31st January 2015 Oulton Park

Featured Replies

A full open pit lane track day with OpenTrack, £109, this includes free tuition that needs to be requested when booking your place, free tea/coffee and donuts too.

PRICE GOES UP ON 6th JANUARY to £139 per car

I have booked on, got the usual garage (handy when Cossie attends as his car usually needs it)  :D

Hope a few of you can join me.  November was great fun, extremely wet and slippery but lots of car control was learned.

Too early for me sadly. January is a month of repairs for me. Need new radiator, sump, probably rear brakes, definitely rear bearings

No worries Jason, January is early for me too, I have a few jobs to do also but on the whole the Golf should be ready to go...

Pussy.

The Brisk Rover needs lower arms, bigger front arb fitting, cv boot replacing, brake fluid changing, interior stripping out, front seat rockiness sorting and it's gotta be abused giving rides at the Autosport show on the 10th Jan and then fix anything I break inbetween, but it'll be there

Mine's purely from a financial P.O.V.  The money is simply needed elsewhere :D

I am booking in for a full day on the big Rockingham circuit in March.  I am building up to that at the moment.  The tuning still needs some fine "tuning" after noticing some changes after fitting the darkside intercooler kit.

What's up with rear brakes?

Hope it's dry, that place is a skating rink in the wet. Very nearly put the Transit off before when setting up stages for the Rally there in December :D

All my toys will be still in a state of construction/repair!

Only a few weeks until I will be at Oulton Park, have any of you guys decided to dust off the track wheels, polish your helmet and join me at this classic circuit?

Pretty much decided I'll be there :)

Probably travel up on the Friday, stay in a hotel, any decent hotels around there?

Need to be a northloop.co.uk member.  Early spaces only available via there.

I'm looking forward to this and the car is mostly sorted. New lower arms and bigger front arb on, 4 wheel alignment done so it's handling nicely. Brake fluid changed so it's stopping well too. Interior stripped out and I've managed to sorce some bargain bespoke frames so I can fit my freely aquired bucket seats :D

You have done some prep to your car!

I have also prepped mine, it had half a tank of petrol, so I will top that off, I need to reconnect the battery lead and replace the gasket between the turbo and the manifold, then it should be ready.

Jason, early spaces were advertised on Opentrack Facebook page..   you are welcome to join the north loop if you want to.

Indeed. Also fixed the busted CV boot and a steering rack gaitor had gone too. Just need to sort the slight blow on the exhaust and I think it's tip top again.

Tempted but I really need to save my money for a track car...

Just thought of one more job I still need to do:

Fit my Fire Extinguisher :D

I still have a 2000    A3 1.8 T quattro sport, it can be yours for £1000 just needs stripping out.

I'm looking RWD :) probably MX5 or similar

The A3 has rear wheel drive...... front too  :p  it also has a bit of power, unlike an MX-5  :bandit:

Gonna book this Friday, so is HardcoreHobbit.

We will have quite a gathering       Might be worth booking another garage as I have one but with all these Skoda's attending we might need more garage space..
