Sorry, my car is nowhere near ready for track yet.  I'm still waiting on my methanol to be refitted / got working again + rear brake & bearings overhaul too.  I hope to be shipshape by end of Feb.

Good idea, don't use a iPhone apps or Android, they seem quite unreliable get it tested properly.

 

My phone kept reading my Clio was 90db, then I tested the Fabia (for a laugh) and that read 90db... The Clio is stupid loud vs the Fabia so something wasn't right...

Your Fabia is probably something like 82 Ben.

We once had a standard V8 Monaro tested at Castle Combe, it was one of the quietest cars all day.

My Golf is a really loud 56 decibels (sounds electric when it drives by), we could argue if yours is a little loud it could be off set against my car

I wouldn't bother tbh, it doesn't matter what your reader (or even theres says) it is whatever it measures on there equipment on that day i'm afraid.

 

So if your car was 90db everywhere and everytime you had it tested but on that day on there meter it was 106db then it's game over.

 

That said they don't seem that strict at Oulton, i've been there twice and never had mine tested lol.

There's a guy on the mitsi forum with same exhaust and he run 98/99/97 on a track day test, I might just get a bung for the tailpipe to be on safe side, if you fail will they let make it quieter after?

If you fail you can make it quieter and have it re tested.

 

 Earlier last year a guy arrived with a TVR, he was 108db and they banned him from the day with no refund!    For what a bung costs it would save your day if needed.

Just paid , I can bring a few tools etc with me I'm pretty handy on the spanners
