Which Tyres Do you Run on Your VRS?

Featured Replies

Hello which tyres does everyone run on their fabia vrs? Currently im running budgets since im on standard alloys but i bought a set of octavia spiders due to go on after refurbished and wondering which tyres are the best for them. My car isnt mapped yet and is totally standard and in the wet cant put power down in 1st 2nd or 3rd just spins which is annoying as hell when overtaking lol. Just want the tyres with best grip and minimizes traction loss in the wet. Cheers.

What size tyres will the new alloys be running?

Generally you can't go wrong with Continental, Michelin or Goodyear but expect to pay for them, everyone will have an opinion on what 'the best' tyre is. Some mid-range tyres from the likes of Hankook and Uniroyal (the rainsports) are said to be pretty decent for the price point but the old saying goes you pay for what you get.

I liked Conti Sports and Michelin Pilot Sports

Michelin pilot sport 3 are my favourites so far (£106 a corner fitted from Costco for the extra load ones (205/45/16)) . Toyo proxes t1r are the crappest tyres I've used on the car so far. Just don't seem to perform well under any condition.

So far I've had, P-zero, Rainsport-3, and hankook icebear something winters.

The hankook, seem the least grippy.. but they are a winter tyre (1st I've tried so difficult to comment).

The P-zeros where okay would of said great until i tried the Rainsport 3's.

The Rainspout 3's are the best I've had on it yet, never spin up in 3rd, have to be provoked to get understeer.

But thats just my opinion, and as with most tyre reviews very subjective....

I will however be buying Rainsport 3's again, best in that price bracket  i think.

How much were the rainsport 3's per corner and where from?

If I've said it once I've said it a dozen times you will not find a better tyre than the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 ( or 2's if you can still get them ) in the wet Made by Continental

The End

Got maxxis maz3s on the front of mine. Very impressed with them!

From the sounds of it uniroyals are the best option and theyre not too pricey either, will be running 205/40/17s on the spiders. Cheers for all replies.

Pilot sports 3

I'm running on 205/40 KU39 KUHMOS with my 17" spiders, best tyres in this case for both quality and price IMO, all depends how much ur willing 2 spend. See reviews here: http://www.productreview.com.au/p/kumho-ku39-ecsta.html

Hope this helps

Another vote for Rainsport 3's :)

Rainsport 3's on the front and rainsport 2's on the back. Can't fault the grip although they seem to wear quite quickly.

Hi

I dont have the vrs but do have a remapped pd100

Currently have full set of winter tyres. Goodyear8 on back. And for a change i have the finnish brand nokian hakkaplieta (think thats correct). The other night i took it for spin in the mushy snow. See a few drivers slipping. Mine just cruised thru. Have to push it to get understeer

Heard alot of good reviews about RSPORTS tho

Rainsports 3 are good but mine only lasted the summer (8 months/8k miles) Rainsport 2s were far better for ware. Currently using Goodyear winters (GW3s) and Assy 2s.

Conti and Pirelli currently

Rainsport 3s all round.

Pilot sport 3's on my Octy. Very quiet in the 18" size.

Got maxxis maz3s on the front of mine. Very impressed with them!

Same here.

Tried continentals.. ok then goodyear better

then bridgestone protanzaz great

Now im on vredrestien sportrak 5's they are amazing. Made the bridgstones feel like budgets. Infact they are as good in wet as bridgstones are in the dry

they are quite tricky to get hold of but worth it. German made (enough said). They even have good looking sidewalls

Vredestein isn't German. which Bridgestones did you have?

Bridgestone protanzas 3? The best one in the range

don't know them. I've had Potenza RE050A at both ends of the Honda as well as S02 on the front with the RE050A on the rear, currently running (almost spent :( )RE050A on the rear with RE002 on the front and they've always seemed pretty good when at the correct pressure, until worn, then they seem to get...sketchy. currently have Uniroyal RS3 all round on the Ibiza but I didn't do too many miles on them, so can't really comment. I always liked Parada spec 2 unless there was a decent amount of standing water

rainsport 3's and love the wet grip ain't experienced dry weather yet but all good up 2 now
