The latest version of the M4 doesn't sound as good as my older version (although it seems to go just as well) and can't even have a proper MPE exhaust 😞 Although my neighbours would prefer i didn't have one :D

  • Well I've finally collected my RS3.   So I thought I would share my initial thoughts and photos:-           Two RSs together:-   The car is really easy to drive as I was so nervous d

  • Not sure an M2 is ideal for the commute.  Or loading the family in. Also the 1 series can't have adaptive cruise, so not sure about the 2. Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick week

  • Nah, leave him be, the 7R forums will eat him alive, at least here we know where he is and it beats care in the community

Should be an interesting series of video's all on the same roads on the same day and then the big reveal later in the week.

I'm getting a Milltek Sports-Cat Downpipe and inter-cooler fitted in the next few weeks to take mine to stage 2. So hoping it wont make it too much louder as they suggested a downpipe would.

Just taking it out of cruise control makes it pop and crackle when in dynamic mode so doesn't really need any more noise.

A few options I noticed missing from that car was the super sports seats that just look better than the standard ones.

Also the smaller screen without Google maps makes the MMI look a bit older than the upgraded system.

But doesn't really distract from the overall car though.

I'll be surprised if they keep the power output the same as the existing model.

With the 2.5 engine really under stressed in its current form there is a market for a high power version even if there is a cost implication to get it to meet tighter emission standards,

Motor 1 website quotes 444hp plus version (https://www.motor1.com/news/410634/audi-rs3-hatchback-spy-photos/) but until Audi release facts it can only be speculation.

My current Pre-Facelift RS3 is running close to 445 hp and to be honest it doesn't feel too fast and is very easy to drive day-to-day.

If Audi did decide to make a 445hp version it would be a good seller no-matter the sticker price or monthly repayment.

Also it will offer even more headroom for the tuners to extract more power from the engine.

Agree my Golf R engine/turbo Superb makes 180bhp per litre with a stage 1 remap so on that basis a good factory ECU tune should be able to give 450bhp (same 180bhp per litre) and not affect emissions as my car uses less fuel now (best of 47.8mpg) than it did when it only had the standard 283bhp (45.9mpg).

Yes, 'tis true, other large MQB platform cars could include the big SUV's from SEAT, Skoda, & VW. Please remind me, what was your point?

George thinks a 2012 Fabia Vrs is a fast car?:D

Simple, remapping a Superb 272 AWD does not put it in the same class as a RS3.

It might still be good for ram raiding though.

@shyVRS245 There are MK2 vRS Fabia owned by members here that are faster than your Superb. & better handling.

Who would want to own an RS3, 'tis nose-heavy (wider tyres on the front wheels.....) + it's an Audi.........

FWIW we did have a test-drive vRS Fabia, about 5 years ago. I'm not sure which version though. (1.4 TSi & 7-speed DQ200 DSG). It was dire, noisy, rock-hard ride &

no way was it a sensible replacement for her vRS Octy.

She's quite happy with a Golf Wagon, & wont be in the market for another car any time soon.

Since my garage is too small for a Mk. 3 Superb,  (I'm not selling my home just to accommodate a new & larger car.....) I'm hoping that the Mk 4 Octy will be available with a decent 2.0 TSi / 7-speed DSG / & 4WD. Given that the current Covid-19 crisis could last for the rest of this year, I'm not expecting any good news re. an Octy Mk 4 vRS just yet.

@old newbie2 The version would be a Mk2 Fabia vRS as from 2010-2014/15.

Not part of the discussion really other than the 'Driving god member trying to be a smart arse'.

I have never had a 2012 Mk2 Fabia vRS by the way or a standard one of any age.

As to who would want a RS3?  There are those that get ones and those that take other peoples.

PS,

Met police must have found a Fabia warm hatch handy for nipping about London.

Just plain looks and fit through narrow spaces. Never mistaken as a Private Hire car or Airport Transport.

Don't see many (any actually) Fabia Vrs in my neck of the woods, probably because most of them have run out of oil and the engines seized.:tongueout:

@shyVRS245  You might well be right there.  You do not see many, but at your speed that is true of lots of cars you fail to see other than in your mirror,

and the twinchargers might well have ran out of oil.

@vrskeith

This was from 2015 when Peugeot had been showing a Peugeot 308R Hybrid Concept.   They have had plenty of time to get one right since then.

Took part in another VMAX200 event on 18th July 2020.

Except for one run I was beaten every time but didn't mind as it was a fun day seeing what the car could do.
