• Whenever I have felt an affinity to a car I have given it a name.
• Over the years, when discussing cars, I have found that recalling a car by name has made life easier as SWMBO doesn't seem to recognise makes, models etc. although she is masterful in remembering colours.
• Our Jungle Green Superb now has been named - Jane!!!

Shanco (Tarzan)

Used to have a Land Rover series 3 which we called 'Bill'. I think it was one of our kids who gave it the name. Maybe FWF 540L is still out there somewhere.

My first car was an extremely low and hard VW Polo called: Gocart.

The next one was a yellow Hyundai Accent called: The cheese.

Then I had a Nissan Sunny called where the suspension where so soft that my friends called me a grandad ( I was 24 with no kids).

Next up another Polo with the name: Gocart.

Then a Red Hyundai Scoupé turbo called: Red lightning

After that a Kia Sephia, Mitsubishi Pajero, VW Passat and now the Superb. Neither of these have had names...

I called my 1.2 clio sh1ty, enough said......

My Octy Estate is known as "The Beast" by all with any affection for it, largely on account of what it can eat (i.e. carry...).

My Superb is called Susan 

My 5yr old named our car "Terry the Touran" seems to fit ok :-)

My son named my Superb estate Megatron

Annie(versary) the Yeti - a special present to ourselves.  Guess what we called the Nissan Terrano x xxx PEG?

All of our cars have names (yes I am sad as well)

 

1) Suzuki Jimny = Jimny Cricket

2) Nissan 370Z = The Zee

2) Skoda Superb = Doris

It may not be pc, but when travelling across the agri-plains of Northern France, I like to call mine Tank, or Panzer, given Skoda`s WW2 history. Superbs also drive like tanks, IMHO.

My daily run about is a red Astra called gary my skoda is called roy

Well cause mine is full black, magic black with tinted windows, black leather, i called it: the bat mobile )

Jetta = never got a name

I don't anthropormorphise.

 

It's just a metal and glass box with an engine in the front and a wheel at each corner.

 

The nearest I've ever got to naming cars is that all of them at some time have been called "You Barsteward" (as in Start, you barsteward)

The wife's car is know as 'yours'.

 

My car is known as 'mine'.

 

And vice versa depending on which one of us is talking

My Superb Estate is called USS Enterprise:)

 

we ended up calling ours Sybil, after Lady Sybil from the discworld books.

 

we thought she and the car suited each other!

Harsh, but fair.

I have today placed an order for a Superb Estate. 'He' is to be known as Tom, The reg is an anagram of the name. And My late father was called Tom... nuff said
