Indicator repeater question.

Featured Replies

Simply, how does the side indicator lense come off, just lever off?

Nothing in the Toledo or Rapid manual to say how it's removed.

Believe you have to access it from inside the wheel arch by getting behind the liner.

Thanks, I shall have a look at that. Sods law, in the manual it tells you how to remove/replace all bulbs except on the side repeater.

It's not actually a bulb that's blown, just to satisfy my OCD as I have noticed some green algea forming behind one of the lenses. Think because the car was stored a few months before I bought it, must have been missed by the valeting team.

Am I right in thinking the indicator on the wing is a sealed unit (and that you replace the entire indicator unit rather than just the bulb)?

This approach is - annoyingly - becoming more and more common on cars I've found.

Having had a good look at mine this evening, it's definitely a 'get your hand behind the wing' job to release the unit.

Think I'll try getting a soft bristled brush behind lense and bodywork first when on the next wash.

As on the Citigo too, I have the start of green algea appearing on the base of door window rubber/cushion seals. Told you I'm ocd.

Far as I'm aware you can remove and replace just the bulb.

It's a small lamp with a push in bulbholder at the back. Removal is the same as the Citigo whereas you lever it out from the side to remove from the wing [emoji106]

You don't need to get at it from the rear.

The have 2 spring clips holding them in which are fragile if you're heavy handed.

This is what they look like you replace the bulb removing wheel arch liner not from the front as damage to the paint will happen the bulb pushes in the holder you push the tab then push forward

Thanks for the pics above ^^^^^ I'll give it a go this weekend. May actually slide an edge under the front face, something like a credit card. If it won't release, liner off.

Done it on the Citigo from the outside and tried tonight on the Rapid with a trim tool. Just push the spring clip in and they pop out with no paint damage [emoji106][emoji16]

I broke the card, it was an old one :notme: Anyway gave up and just cleaned behind the lense, it looks clean again now.
