manual windows

Featured Replies

has the new se fabia estate still got manual windows in the back it is 2015. some has told me you have got to pay

for electric windows for the back. it looks like skodas are getting to dear. i shall look at one but if that is the case i will

look at the new 308 peugeot estate which will have more spec

The SE has manual rear windows, it's £160 extra for electric ones.

I don't understand why you'd look at a Peugeot 308 estate just because of a lack of standard electric rear windows, it's in the next class of car above with a price premium to match, the 308 will be a lot more than £160 dearer than a Fabia with the electric rear windows.

I'm considering an SE estate Fabia and possibly the Peugeot 2008, comes down to price and the deal rather than individual spec for me though. After a few years of Pugs I switched to Skoda as Peugeot build quality was woeful, my last 207 felt like is was going to drop to bits after 3 years, the front end was knocking, the interior rattled like a money box but the 110bhp Diesel engine was great.

I'm wary of buying another Peugeot but they seam to have sorted themselves out and the sheer number of 2008s I see around by where I live means they must've got something right. The standard spec has improved on them that's for sure.

We're more inclined to hang on to our Fabia II, particularly with just under 3 years warranty left. Whether in the future we look at the Fabia III remains to be seen but with ever rising prices and dealers not offering a level service like they used too, paying much more consideration to other brands is becoming more probably. However Peugeot are still on the blacklist from my brief but disastrous 306 ownership experience.

Peugeots seem to have woeful ergonomics despite being very popular. I have looked at prices of various Peugeots and Vauxhalls but despite comments about New Fabia prices they seem comparable with other cars in that sector. We need to accept that Skoda are no longer a budget brand.

i can understand manual windows on the s model but on the  se  model its a bit much. but like i say i will look at the se model would like the pan roof 17s inch wheels

white or silver last november was offerd a top of the range estate brand new at the telford skoda even that had manual windows fitted so how do work that out . so i had the 508 estate need boot space

can not fault it no probs with it. so arm just waiting for the brouchure to come out and the new fabia estate

If you were not after a full estate you would be better looking at a Spaceback SE Sport; have pan roof etc. as standard.

Why such a beef about no electric rear windows, I couldn't care if anyone in the back of my car had to manually wind a window up or down, I sit in front funnily enough where I do have an electric window so that's all that matters to me.

It does matter to some though. I prefer my young children not to be able to play with the windows, so electric windows with locks are ideal. They were standard on the SE+ so hopefully Skoda will introduce a similarly specced variant at some point.

We have a new Fiesta Titanium (one from top spec; list price about £16.5k) with windy up windows in the back. After about 5 mins I have forgotten about it, but there are only 2 of us in the car.

Only the Titanium X (or maybe the ST..?) get electric rears in the Ford Fiesta range.

... and in many cars it's not even an option, which at least it is on most (all?) of the Fabia models.

Exactly, they're an option so if people need/want them then all they have to do is pay £160 and you get switches instead of winders in the back, I can't understand why people are moaning about the lack of rear electric windows, if you want them then just pay for them.

There are only 2 of us so we don't need electric windows in the rear either. They would have been handy in occasion in my current Fabia for the dog in the boot but sadly he is no longer with us....

Agreed.

Its when you have winders in the front you need to moan. Thats a right pita haha.

It's not that bad until you need to get it down quick and are raging on the handles, never fully owned a car with front wind downs

Its a pita when somebody comes to the passenger window for a word

Just a note of interest . When the Fabia mk1 was launched in Jan 2000  the Elegance model had electric rear windows as standard . But then these were quietly dropped in the middle of 2002 !

I always wondered why electrical windows are favored at the front where you comfortably can operate them manually from the drivers seat, and not at the back doors which certainly cannot be operated by the driver. At least when driving. ;)
