DSG reset

Featured Replies

Is it possible to reset dsg learning curve, has anybody tried and does this work?

It's a long process as the dealer did it on my 2012 vRS DSG, requires different driving requests and various driving scenarios.

I asked them to do it as it was getting a little snatchy. If you are having an issue let the dealer do it (FOC to you, warranty charge to skoda)

The method posted doesn't actually do that much tbh. The DSG doesn't actually "learn" that much from your driving style etc.

The proper procedure requires VCDS (or the dealer tool VAS). You have the engine running with the gearbox up to temperature and it runs through some tests and makes lots of clunking noises as it learns the clutch biting points etc.

Then you have to go for a "defined test drive".

What issues are you experiencing?

Here's the article on ross tech regarding the DQ250 6 speed DSG.

What issues are you experiencing?

Not much of an issues, except some turbo lags, and not the smoothest of changes sometimes... was more wondering is this method legitimate and will it possibly make it run better..

It is legitimate but may or may not help. Worth a try I guess.

As your dealer to run basic settings on the gearbox. It's quick to do (less than 30 mins including the drive really).

What makes you think the changes aren't smooth/normal? Which gears are we talking about?

It took me a little while to get used to the gearbox and knowing how to drive it smoothly- not that I'm saying you don't know how to do this.

I used to have a Passat CC DSG and every time it went in for a variable service I asked for the DSG to be reset. It smoothed it all out as it began to get a bit 'jerky', quite a noticable difference after picking the car up after a service. I think I had six services in all covering somewhere approaching 120k miles so a few resets, lovely gearbox and now I have a manual I miss it. Well worth doing in my opinion.

I have a Skoda Octavia 2015 DSG 7 speed gearbox, the car has done 55000 miles, I incurred a fault in the odd gears 1, 3, 5 and 7. it would slightly slip, so before any expensive garage costs, I did a reset on the DSG  gearbox.. while the ignition on with the dash lights showing, press down on the accelerator for 30 seconds, and then start the car without turning off, it should restore the gearbox to the default setting, and clear any faults, fixed my fault...hope this helps

Did this today and the gear changes were smoother. Even noticed the dsg was changing higher in the rev range than normal and didnt go into 6th gear at 40mph like usual.
