Skoda Fabia Vrs Tyres

Featured Replies

Toyo Proxes 4's get my vote. A very good balance of grip, and longevity.

I have a feeling they may have been discontinued as they seem increasingly difficult to get hold of.

Just did the same from the Swedish version of MyTyres, I've been hearing so much about them RS-R's... I plan some track days in the future but I hope they are fine for everyday use as well. Can anybody comment on how easily they come to operating temps compared to, say, the Dunlops? Car has to stay usable for the wife!

they dont need warming up :)

they dont need warming up :)

That's what I wanted to hear...  :D

I found RS-R's surprisingly good all round summer tyre! Despite being sold as semi-slick road legal track rubber they are really good in wet. I am not talking massive puddles or deep standing water but just normal wet.

Good, I am really looking forward now. Although I guess they'll stay in the storage for a couple of months to come. Icey roads and -4 this morning, Nexens to the rescue...

I had been out this morning (-1.5C was -8C last night!) in the vRS with winter tyres and all the electronics, without issue, then we went out for the day, it was sunny and nice,(about 2C)  so got in the eunos roadster , roof off, (summer tyres RWD LSD no electronics) and promply went nicely sideways out the end of our road ! lol...

I don't see anything strange there...!  It's amazing how much difference do winter tyres make, and not just on snow.

had to creep around, but had SO much fun! lol.....winter tyres and electronics = safe....... no electronics and toyos, on a 25 y/o car = fun !lol....

I love my vRS , but its only fun on the track, I can't exploit it on the road!

That is why I always keep writing here that performance upgrades are pointless unless you are tracking your car as OEM is too fast to exploit it on public highways :) Unless of course you live for traffic lights GP or you are stupid enough to go full steam on public highways...

We had some snow down south east over the last couple of days, just enough to lightly sprinkle local roads and large car parks. With all the electronics in the world and winter tyres on some people still could not hack it. The best example is a female driver in Merc 350E Estate on winter rubber. She was trying to go up a slope in a large, untreated car park. She kept slowing and slowing until she got stuck as she was simply applying more and more throttle so tyres wee simply without any traction at all times. I was right behind her, screaming my lungs out and in the end had to go around it as otherwise I would end stuck as well. The box was in "D" and by very gentle application of the throttle feeling the tyres loosing traction often (sure sign too much throttle) I somehow managed to get up that hill in a much lighter car on SUMMER rubber! I got out of the car and was finding it difficult to keep upright it was so slippery lol

Granted, I do have much more fun in the beemer in such conditions :D
