Coolant pump unavailable

Featured Replies

There seem to be a lot of comments about water pumps / coolant pumps. After excellent help from Skoda Assist I handed my 12 Superb Estate in to my main dealer on 22 December with a diagnosed faulty pump. Nearly three week later I'm still without my car: the pump is "on back order". I asked the dealer today to be more specific - they said there were no pumps available and their request is with the factory.

And I'm not the only one - they have an Octavia waiting for a pump too...

Is this normal? Have other owners faced this problem?

If you are talking about common rail diesel water pumps then yes they are on a back order.

Doh, why don't they use their noggins and source one from here, even if it's a temp fix not that it need be as the motor factor pump will probably be better quality anyway.

Sounds like a common problem with the pumps :-0
