Fabia MK2 vRS changing boot light - help!

Featured Replies

Hi all!

Has anyone successfully changed the bulb in the boot of vRS MK2? Trying to change to swap for an LED bulb but just can't access it, added a pic, seems to be inside some kind of box! Any help would be appreciated.

You need to take the fuse out first, everyone who's done this has blown the fuse.

It does just pull out then there's a couple of metal tabs you need to prize open to get the bulb holder out, this is why you have to remove the fuse.

Thanks I'll have another go tomorrow. Are there any clips to press in before its pulls out?

Insert a small screwdriver on the bottom side and gently pry it out.
There is no need to remove the fuse, but make sure that the "arms" aren't touching any metal on the LED-lamp ;).

Thanks Confide, but how do I remove the bulb housing from the connector plug?post-40799-0-61795300-1421592141_thumb.jpg

I would remove the fuse, wish I had done when I was doing mine would have saved myself some money on replacements.

Iirc you pry the metal housing open gently where the metal case meets the plastic lens. You can straighten it up again before you put it back together for a snug fit.

As Jonro says. Remove the fuse first. It will blow. And itll take out your tail lights with it.

Itll just pry out.

I couldnt get a normal led one to fit so i bought some special flat ones. I'll get a link in a mo.

Its the same as the glovebox one pretty much

I changed mine without taking any fuse out and had no problems

Hi Ja i upgraded mine to led lighting .....very easy job actually.

Youve got 2? I've only got 1? Haha.

Did you add the other as aftermarket?

I did both sides and the inner edge of the boot floor. Might switch to white soon, not sure.

Where abouts are you from?  I've done mine a few times, just wondering if you're near and I could help you.

We are trying to help the OP to make up his mind not compare prices.

I have seen the build thread and the car is amazing.

I wasn't trying to annoy anyone, I was just stating that I thought it was expensive.
