Online car buying/deal study

Hi Folks,

A discussion on the car buying services and brokers. This goes back over a couple of years, with the good and bad of it all. Along the way I've had various talks to dealers with mixed results. I think the 'web' buyer is different today than 4 or 6 years ago.  I also have a strong personal desire to see local business thrive again. So online brokers/deals...

  • Do you use, have you used them?

  • What did you like, what didn't you like?

  • Did you use them for research as-well, options, colours etc?

  • Have you produced an 'online' quote to match at the dealer, if so how did it go?

I'm still researching, but if anyone's interested in joining in; car sales, buyer etc, please get in touch.

Over to you, any thoughts on the above, be honest, you won't upset me  :)

I've moved this to a better home, anyone any views?

i used a collection of online brokers with mixed results compared to local dealers, online can save lots of money if your just a cash buyer

one i did get a good quote off also offered very good px values and i used this to haggle at a dealer ( i say haggle, here is a print out of a quote beat it or lose it ) and got another 1k off, they didnt quite match the price but got it near enough not to take a risk with online buying and px value wont be renegotiated if there's any delays etc, full tank of fuel and mudflaps thrown in too

Got to say it does help with prices and optional extras etc, much more realistic prices than manufacturers online car builders as there's no discounts there

All in all im very happy i used them to compare and roll on 12 weeks ish
