Vxr Remap

Featured Replies

Ok, I know I'm swearing in here talking about a Vauxhall, but I seem to remember a few of you have or have had Vauxhall vxr's.

A good friend of mine's son has recently bought an Astra vxr and is looking to get it mapped. Now I know this is like opening a can of worms, but are there any tuners out there worthy of mention like we would mention Shark, R Tech ect for VAG?

I had a Cavalier redtop sri a few years ago and Courtenay were the tuner of choice then, are they still in the game or has there been a shift out there?. I tried looking at the vxr forums, but the general forums attitudes are worse than SCN, so any help whatsoever, no matter how trivial would really be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Phil.

Hey, don't diss de SCN massive!

I would have thought Shark et al will be able to do fine job on the VXR, assuming it's in their respective list of covered cars.

If you can wait until Monday, I'll tell you about a place in Norwich I'm visiting.

Courtenay still going strong, There is also Regal down at Southampton that do Vauxhall as well as V.A.G stuff, was a place in Merseyside just need to try and remember there name. For spares there is LMF at Market Harborough and Auotvaux in Wakefield, try Total Vauxhall magazine for a few other ideas.

I was at a rolling road session in Leeds (RS Tuning) a few weeks ago with the VX lads.  Quite a few of them had Astras and recommended RS Tuning as a quality place to go.  Courtenay are still well thought of and I'm considering them as an option to remap the Vectra. Their headline figure isn't the highest - about 305 bhp for a Stage 1 map - but it's meant to be a good quality map for everyday use.

Thanks for all the input, really appreciated, one company that his son asked me about was Thorney Motorsport, have they got any kind of reputation either way at all.

From the basic stuff I can find on the net, they don't seem to bad, but we all know web pages mean squat without personal recommendation.

Once again thanks everybody for the stuff so far.

I've heard of Thorney Motorsport. Again I think they were quite big back in the early 000's when all of us were younger and spent ££££££ on our cars lol.
