Not sure if the above links worked, but are these the same lights, if not are they both compatible and which one is better...

Anyone got either of these, one of the pics (the first one) is rubbish, hard to tell what it really looks like.

Any views...

Enquired to a local seller in Torbay about a set of blacked out looking cluster lights he had for sale at

My thoughts? Stick with the standard setup :D:rofl:

However, seen Montys and it looks really nice, I dont suppose anyone knows which one of these are on his, they look really good in the flesh... Im gonna give them a go, post some pis and if they are cr%p ill just swap them back and sell them on...

I think the bottom ones look nice, but are a bit more expensive, the photos of the top ones arent good and i cant really see what they look like.

Cheers guys.

I agree too. Neon lights next?

Not my kinda style - would have liked to have had blacked out clusters but keep the rest of the look standard-ish.

Still - your car and if you like them, by all means go for it :D

i like montys too much gonna take the plunge ill post some pics aftrer they are fitted... i think the dark ones look good on the black vRS, however I agree that if my car was silver i wouldnt get the clear ones as they will look like all other modded light cars out there, perhaps thats why you guys with silver vrss are not so keen, where are the black vrs owners to back me up here, the comments were all positive when monty posted his pics a while back...

The Black ones do look better than the normal lexus ones.

Shame there isn't more out there for the fabia really.

I've had the chrome version on mine for about a year. Lots of people have been rude about them on the board, but nobody who has seen them in the flesh has passed bad comments.

I actually prefer them to the originals, and they are brighter than the originals.

< stir mode>Why debadge your car and then leave the trademark rear lights on it? Either you don't want people to know it's a Fabia or you leave the badges on. mode>

I don't think debadging is about trying to disguise who built your car. It wasn't for me, anyhow. I've done it on all my cars because just cleans the panels up a bit.

I personally think the standard lights are a nice piece of design and Lexus-style ones look a bit cheap. Even if you change the lights and remove the badges, people who care will still know it's a Skoda...

My thoughts entirely.

Just to clarify Im not trying to hide what the car is, I love the fact that its a skoda its the best thing avout it, the shock when people see it and go for a ride in it is priceless... But I genuinly thing it looks alot better with less on the back, put some fabia letters back on but a bit more spaced out, and the vRS badge rear and central, youll see when new lights arrive and are fitted, went for the bottom ones by the way, looks really nice in the flesh.

Funnily enuff, I'd seen these on ebay too and hesitated about the sub

also been looking at them, i have a black fabia vrs and think the black versions would look good, any one got a picture of a black fabia with them in??

I took some of that tail light repair tape and covered up the clear bitsa so its all red. looks ok from a distance and its different enough without being saxo

What puts me off about these offerings is the quality, how well they fit, potential for water ingress etc

Maybe if some of the big names like Hella brought some designs out I'd be a bit more welcoming. As things stand, those two featured look a bit cheap and tacky.

Best of luck if you decide to go ahead though, let us all know your thoughts...

The ones I put on my Cooper were made by a firm called Ultra and they fitted perfectly. Had a very small issue with condensation but that went away after the lights had been on a while. Looks like the ones on ebay for Furbys may come from the same people ?

i really like these but i cant seem to find them anywhere.... :(

I would love to get some that are effectively black 'unless lit' - perhaps with a reflective stripe thing to keep it legal, don't know what the rules are on that - must admit on a black Furby (like mine ;)) it would probably look better than on a Silver one. It might look great on a red or yellow one too, hard to know without seeing one :)

you can either use folia tec or stop tint black laquer to cover your stock light.

I did the ones on my Audi A4 with a 10 quid can from boy racer shop

a couple of coats keeps it nice and legal.

the second is to get a paint shop to mix black paint with clear laquer and paint the light with that.

The MOT requires that you have a red reflector on the rear of the vehicle within a certain distance of each corner

if you have a VRS you wont have to worry about that for a while yet
