Octavia 4x4 jabba how many bhp?

Featured Replies

Hallo has anyone skoda octavia 4x4 model 2003 1,8t 150bhp remapped at jabbasport?

Does it take it 220bhp?

I have this model with sport exchausting and k&n filter and original skoda turbo. Can anyone tell me?As far as i know most ecu programmers take it up to 190bhp?Isnt it right?

I heard jabba goes it around 220 bhp far away from the abt i am running now is it true?

I can think of one Briskodian who has a jabba'd 4x4 octy in Dynamic Blue colour :D

And IIRC, his rolling road dyno resulted in a few more horses than 220, but it's all relative to which rolling road you use as they all give slightly different readings.

One car which makes 100 bhp on one RR may make 115 on another ;)

Although I thought most ECU programmers can boost the output of a 150bhp 1.8T beyond 190bhp. I think 210-230 is the right ball park.

Also, I think the remaps give different results whether a 1.8T is drive by wire or not. In your case, I guess it is drive by wire which is the one which gives the circa 220bhp.

this is my car re-mapped by jabba with a new turbo inlet pipe, IC to throttle body pipe and CAI running on 95 ron fuel. i have since had a turbo back exhaust fitted and run on 99ron fuel :)

so i as i see you get 20 or 30 bhp more than abt with 4 times lower price at jabba right? And whats more do i have to change ecu box now that i run abt because i heard that abt programm locks ecu.Can jabba reprogramm ecu eprom above abt programm?

In this case Jabba would have to swap out your EEPROM, from your ECU, and put a new one in with the base map and customise from there.

You'd get your swapped out EEPROM back.

this is great and thank you all for your kind help. Here in Greece most tuners ask more than 1000 euros and not such a good work.Jabba is realy helpfull!Has anyone tried the abt vs jabba on the same car.Is the difference between the 2 programms on driving noticeable? Is it so much better the jabba from ABT?

I don't think we get ABT here in the UK....although I'm not sure what Kim Collins/QST use....expensive what ever it is.

Available in mainlnad Europe though.....doesn't Mattijs/Dutch4x4 have ABT?

I think the likes of ABT and Oettinger are usually lower output than what's available in the UK as they come with a full engine warranty and as such want to put less stress on the car. I think Kim Collins use MTM which is similar to the other two mentioned.

I would like to ask has anyone tested upsolute ecu upgrade on octavia 4x4 1,8t 150bhp is it better than jabba or same, worse etc?

Cant answer that one but weve had both our Octys mapped by Jabba & results on both were shall we say "more than adequate :thumbup: " Both have now also racked up a few miles with no problems.

I did the Cannonball 2 years ago in the 4x4 & the only upgrade to the Engine was a Jabba re map, We finished 19th :)

The 1.8T engine in the 4X4 is as tuneable as that in the vRS - give or take a couple of bhp.

No, I have Oettinger, which does the same somewhat conservative job at approximately the same price. So Eddy is spot on here:

I think the likes of ABT and Oettinger are usually lower output than what's available in the UK as they come with a full engine warranty and as such want to put less stress on the car.

Mind you, that conservatism should be taken with a pinge of salt because their claim is 210-215hp. I've held back on reading up on the entire Jabba RR issue, but isn't the upshot of it all that it's always been optimistic with those 230+ readings? Not wanting to open a can of worms but I've always thought so, especially after understanding that some Jabba cars couldn't top 215 on other RRs. Here, Jabba's Dutch partner JD has had to come back on its initial 230hp claim (after a similar row) and now states 220hp as the maximum. So Oettinger does only 5hp less, and - in my case - with full factory warranty. Having said that, I have the greatest respect for Jabba's and JD's work, especially at the price they are asking.

But on mainland Europe it's all Abt now anyway, when it comes to officially warrantied ECU upgrades. At Skoda NL (and only them) Oettinger was simply acting as a stop-gap for engines that Abt hadn't covered yet, such as the ARX in the 4x4 turbo. And even for Oettinger I was the first!

Nowadays, Abt is even more conservative than Oettinger, and yet more expensive, to the point that some customers are unsatisfied with the gains. Some Abt programs also seem to cause quite a lot of fault issues and aren't always received as smooth, and I've never heard the same said about Oettinger. So I understand why soulfreem isn't quite so eager to do business with them...

The 1.8T engine in the 4X4 is as tuneable as that in the vRS - give or take a couple of bhp.

Why is that anyway? I've always thought that it was because of that weird exhaust lay-out underneath the car, but I could be wrong, of course...

I've read that the 4x4's standard twin cat arrangement is slightly less restrictive than the 2wd single cat equivalent. However on the negative side the IC duct in the bumper is smaller on the 4x4 than the vRS.

not on mine ;)

nor mine ;)

:D

Bloody is on mine!!! Boo hoo!!! I need a more sympathetic Insurance company and a Jabbasport 'Northwest Branch'.

Sorry about that Mattijs...memories going...old age and that... ;)

JD or Jerome Dik...remember him from one of hte early issue of Max Power...MK2 Golf....think it had NOS...went like the proverbial.

My car produce "only" 214bhp after remapping, which always confuses me when people say Jabbas rollers over read. It's around bang on what you'd expect but then perhaps it's really only just over 200bhp in reality. :(

Car also read 178bhp as standard....cell was very hot that day...39 deg c.

Where's the shrug shoulds smiley? ;):D

Never mind Ade, old-school Briskodians should stick together. ;):D

Dutch 4x4 could you give me some more details about Oettinger or any other ecu tuner you like?Do they have a web site? Can oettinger upgrade ecu box by sending to him from Greece? How much does oettinger charge in euro for ecu upgrade. If he is charghing twice as jabba then why should we take him ecu?Only because of warranty?

Oettinger's website is at www.oettinger.de (as could be expected :D ). If your engine type is known with them, you don't have to send your own ECU. They will simply send a new one with their programme, which you or your dealer in Greece will need to put in place of the original one.

I'm not aware of their current prices, as the price I paid (1200 euros) was set by Skoda NL and included factory warranty, as Abt simply did not have an ARX chip at the time. Oettinger themselves do not give factory warranty, only Abt does. Equally, I don't know how much Jabba is asking, but I do know JD's prices in NL, and there aren't twice as much but only one-and-a-half... See here:

I expect Jabba to be in the same region but I'm happy to be corrected if otherwise. :D
