Strange aircondition/heater problem

Featured Replies

Need help on this strange aircondition/heater problem, in my car 2011 superb estate 170hk diesel.

Problem is... I set temperature to 22-23C°, and it working normal, until I get above 114/115 km/t.

Then it starts to blow cold air. Even if I set temp to high, there is no changing what ever I set it to.

Only way is to speed down to below 115km/t.

Or I can speed up to 125/126km/t, then it starts to blow warm air again.

Problem is dependant on speed between 115-125km/t.

I had it to service center, but there was no fault codes or anything wrong.

They also had it for a testrun to confirm that it happened.

They even compared with another superb, that acted same ?

Anyone having the same problem or a solution?

Perhaps it's getting above 23 c so changes to cold air

Are you using auto mode?

Is coolant temperature stable all the time?

I'm convinced there are some bugs in the software of this controller. The problem you describe is not one I've seen, but I once had it go fully hot and refuse to blow cool air until I stopped and restarted the car. I'm also convinced that somehow, the temperature is affected by how dark it is. If I travel in the dark, I have to set the temperature a couple of degrees higher to feel warm. Really noticeable in Winter because I finish early on a Friday so its still light and I have to turn the temp back down.

Hi guys, sorry for not replying, but the problem still there :-(

I have tried using the AUTO mode and manual, but no difference. Water temp is showing 90deg and oil temp is above 90deg. No heat is coming if the oil temp is to low.

Sometimes when only setting temp to 18 or 20 deg it will heat up slightly.

I have also put cover on the lower grill in the front to make it warm faster. It helps on the oil temp :-)

No errors on VCDS, is it possible to set up VCDS to monitor several temp sensors, to see what is going on?

Sounds like it's getting a spurious reading from a temperature sensor somewhere. You should be able to read the values for all the temperature sensors using the measuring blocks function in VCDS.

There are several sensors positioned around the car feeding information back to the controller: one in each vent, one on the front of the climatronic control panel, the ambient air sensor in the front bumper, and probably more I can't think of right now. I'd guess they're accessible from the climatronic controller in VCDS.
