Renshaw and Newsome, at last a good dealer.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Some of you know I've had a problem with brake judder for some time, a new set of disc's solve the issue but it's back within 2000 miles. I've had four sets of discs fitted in the last 12k miles.

I've also got the Octy front end knocking problem.

Now it's been to another more local (For Me) dealer three times and they have not tackled the cause of the brake problem and they say there is nothing wrong with the suspension. On top of that they serviced my Octy and overfilled the oil, they sprayed the Fabia's back bumper and had to do it again because of runs in the laquar and bits they had missed. I've used this local dealer for seven years and it's really gone down hill IMO.

So I've taken the car a further 14 miles to Renshaw and Newsome in Nottingham. The guy I had a ride with seemed to know his stuff.

I've just picked it up and they have changed the front anti-roll bar bushes and now it's knock free.:D Renshaw mechanic said you could visibly tell the bushes were shot so why couldn't the other dealer see.

They checked the brakes and all appears OK. Skoda technical want them to strip the hubs and measure the run out on the hubs but they want it in for two days todo this so I've booked it in for the next time I'm off work.

Although the brake issue isn't solved I'm happy it's looking like the problem is being taken seriously and that I've now found a dealer who will listen and act.

So if you are based around Nottinham or Mansfield I can recommend Renshaw and Newsome.

Cheers

Lee

I would do if I could find it :o

Out of curiosity, and speaking as someone who lives in Mansfield, did the other dealers name also begin with an R, and does it happen to be the name of the village it's in? Just bought my Superb from them and was totally underwhelmed by the experience. I didn't want a brass band but after spending nearly

Looks like we are talking about the same dealer. Looks like I will be giving Renshaw a go myself too. When I was looking for my Superb I did go to them for a chat and they were far more helpful than the local lot, just didn't have the car I wanted. Thanks for the info, I thought it was just me.

Halls of Ruddington are a good bet aswell. They don't sell Skoda anymore but can still service them

I brought mine from Rainworth (may aswel 'name and shame')

Fantastic price and no sales crap.

But Renshaw were excellent to me when i was test driving one.

He handed me the keys and said 'what do you want, half hour?' lol

Halls in ruddington i've been there twice had the same young mechanic, think hes a apprentice but he is excellent!
