Are Yetis breeding in Cumbria ?

Featured Replies

Just returned from a one week stay in Ambleside. Boy, is the YETI a popular car up there. There were three within 50 metres of the cottage I was staying in and plenty seen around the town, Kendal and Windermere. The cottage owner next door was a keen YETI owner and was interested in the differences between his pre facelift and mine.

What a beautiful area.

312 miles each way, two up with luggage and driving at a steady 75mph on the motorways, including the M6 toll road resulted in an average touching 40mpg which is not bad really I suppose.

They are certainly growing in popularity on the the Isle Of Man. At one time you count on one hand the number on the island, now you need to use both. North west UK Skoda dealers must be rubbing their hands with Glee.

I was in a Ambleside yesterday and did indeed see a few Yetis other than mine. A very nice L&K as well. They do seem to be a fairly common sight up here in Cumbria. Also noted for a none school hol winter weekend, the place was absolutely packed out with tourists. Rarely seen so many people there, including in Summer. Just noted you have an L&K. We spotted it parked on a disk zone spot near a car park just when we arrived at about 4pm when we walked past it. I think someone was in it. We were on opposite side of road and stopped and stared at it. Probably not you but a coincidence anyway.

Plenty on the Isle of Wight now as well. When I spoke to the dealer he reckoned 50% of his sales were Yeti's

Plenty around Keswick; I personally know 5 owners !

The higher seating position and compact design makes them ideal for the mature 2 person household in the Lakes.

I used to see only one in West Cumbria, but in the last couple of years more have appeared and it is not unusual to see 4 or 5 on any day ( note. That the population is quite low here). I think arrears reasoning is spot on.

Great cars for this sort of terrain.

Superb pictures. It explains why there were so many people around in the lakes on Saturday.

Yep another one up Friday, for a walk round the Coledale Horseshoe.

Pretty much every time we go to a rural area (west coast of Scotland, Cumbria, North Yorkshire etc.) we see Yetis-galore.

It is times like these that we become smug and realised we have chosen a good car.

Yes, great car for rural areas.

With a name like PaveyArk you were certainly in the correct area with your Yeti.

Apologies to rarrar for the earlier mis-spelling of your name, my iPad seems to now have a mind of its own that it never had before.
