My car should now have been built. Hopefully I'll hear something from the dealer soon.

  • kind of kept it secret to most of my friends but picked up my new Fabia SE L 1.2 TSI 110 today.   Not driven it much yet, but thoughts are all positive so far

  • Feels different to the last car, but that was a diesel, if I have to be critical the steering feels more artificial in the mk3, it's a lot lighter.   Suspension is a big move forward though, actuall

  • Not a bad deal for a brand new model. I expect I could've done better if I'd waited a while but life's for living.

my car has departed Port of Exit this week.. it's en route.. dealer is going to phone me when it is in the country.. shouldn't be too long now. :)

my car has departed Port of Exit

What does this mean exactly?

What does this mean exactly?

It simply means it's a place where cargo is loaded and leaves a country... i.e. my car is on a ship heading for our shores.. :)

I will receive my race blue fabia hatch tomorrow. Exited!

Nice one, sansepp. My car is at the port of exit.

I'm just regretting I didn't go for the sports suspension now.. I hear it also makes the steering a little tougher.. complaints by loads without it that steering is a little light.. never mind..

Got the car, love it. Will post pics tomorrow.

Excellent! Looking forward to seeing the pics.

  • 3 weeks later...

Build week 20 for my estate, not bad given I only ordered at the weekend. I'm told that the Colour Concept hatches are having the worst of it, up to six month's wait according to our local dealer - up to 8 weeks just to get a build date. So I just have to sit and wait, knowing that hopefully by the time it arrives I won't need to try the heated seats out...

So my dealer said they have been really pushing the colour concept so I'm a little bit relieved that I ordered a solid colour only ,hope that I get a build week around week 21 as I'm going to need it by early July but fingers crossed . I will have to be really patient with this car.[emoji17]

I ditched the colour concept stuff, I couldn't justify an extra £925 for it.. and besides, they wouldn't let me have a black roof on a Pacific Blue car.. so phooey to them.  It sounds like they've screwed something up in the production process to start adding a long build time for the colour concept stuff - my dealer also mentioned this on Monday.  Glad I went with solid Pacific Blue non-metallic, looks great as it is to me.. other people seem to like it aswell.. including the wife.. so not bad all round.

Hi all,

A question for those who have a build week, or have had delivered cars.

How long from order did you have a build week?

I ordered 6 weeks ago and have heard nothing.

8 to 10 weeks is about the norm.. I ordered mid-Jan and got it end-March..  however, if you go with colour concept.. you wil have a delay of upto 6 months apparantly.. there are production issues..

River27... I have ordered my car on the 15/3/15 and had a build date on the 23rd. But my dealer did ask me whether I wanted frequent updates or just before the car is ready to collect.

Thanks all for your replies, guess I'm too impatient!

@skodaTDI - I didn't order colour concept. Not worth it IMO

Hopefully I'll hear something soon.

Adrian

Dealer wanted 300 for 3 year gap insurance and 250 for Life Shine but have found better insurance deals online and going to use a loca car detailer for body work Joe

Car built - dealer called on friday ! , said it will be here in two weeks ! - SEL petrol 90 Ps with all the toys ! cannot wait looking forward to it !
