Jacking/Axle Stands

Featured Replies

I've got Eibach springs and Bilstein B8s on order. I've done some minor work just with a decent trolley jack but this is going to need me to get the axle stands out. How the heck do I jack it up and then put axle stands under somewhere strong?

Underside of the Octavia is very different, for starters the rear axle is a beam axle on the Fabia. Cheers for trying though.

you cant there are no official trolley jack or axel stand points I tried when I got my new springs but in the end I hired a 2 post lift

Use a trolley jack on the jacking points, that should be ok. You can use a solted hockey puk on the jack. Nicely locates on the sill.

I use a slotted hockey puck and trolley jack on the jacking points. Where the heck do I then put an axle stand?

I've thought about this in the past. Thought i was being stupid n i must be missing something obvious

Maybe i wasnt then... Haha

Iirc the Fabia rear beam isn't a load carrying axle either so shouldn't be jacked on

My usual answer is look at jackpoint jack stands, costs a lot, but so handy, especially when you move up to bigger/more expensive cars that are "flat" underneath.   ( www.jackpointjackstands.com )
