Superb engine bay ?

Featured Replies

Hi all ( hope I've done this right asking my first question)

Put a deposit down on a superb estate, but while looking under the the bonnet you would have thought it's been re sprayed appeared blackish on the under side ( cars petrol blue colour ) sales man insisted it hasn't, all panel joins look ok, gonna have another look when I go to pick it up

Is this the way it should be as I looked at a nissan x trail and that didn't appear to have been painted in the engine compartment when I thought of buying one of them

Any info would be great

Thanks

Stephen

Mine is the same colour in the engine bay and outside , sounds dodgy, check it out on those text check numbers

They are all like that, it's a matt grey/brown sort of primer finish iirc, it had me wondering at the time as well but it's not the obvious thought, hello mthis ones had a shunt and cheapy autos has fixed it.

My 2014 estate is the same colour on the underside of the bonnet /engine bay and exterior

It must be a new thing now then, mums 12 is undercoat coloured and I enquired as I had the same thoughts as the OP and it is totally normal.

Changed with facelift then by the sounds of it . I would do one of those text checkers anyway , they are only £3 , my daughter did it on a prospective car and it came back straight away as  a cat d , seller went mad with her when she pulled out of deal , cheeky b#####r

My old 2008 Superb MK2 was a different colour under the bonnet.

And my pre FL 2012.

No car now is painted with gloss coat on the inside of the engine bay now days its saves loads on paint and environmental costs, check to see if its the waxy underseal coat that not been steamed off properly.
