Does Maxi Dot come with Columbus?

Featured Replies

I really should have asked my dealer this. Will go pester him about it asap!

You fine people of briskoda. Does the colour Maxi dot screen come automatically with Columbus?

Looking at the price list you can't order Maxi Dot by itself and the configurator on skoda.ie forces you to take maxi dot when you select the Columbus sat nav.

Anyone any experience on this? Last thing I want is to find out is that I've got the full sat nav setup and the basic non colour dash display.

Thanks..!

Yes, according to the configurator.

Also states so in the brochure-Options pages that Columbus comes with colour Maxi-dot.

My dealer told me it would when I ordered mine

When you order the columbus unit it automatically gets added to the build.

Perfect! Is this the same with bluetooth?

I thought all Octavia's come with Bluetooth, unless you mean Bluetooth+

Bluetooth+ ???

Bluetooth+ ???

Aint that just a silly name for the optional phonebox?

The official explanation is "Provides a wireless aerial connection to boost phone signal, which provides better sound quality during a call and prolonged battery life. By placing your phone in the special Bluetooth®+ compartment, it is supplied with amplified signal from the car’s roof aerial and signal is improved by up to 20%."

This video (right at the end) also suggests some enhanced form of voice control, which would make the £200 option price less painful.  It's not exactly clear on what (if anything) the additional voice functions add.

Here in Finland they just call it the phone box. No silly Bluetooth®+ branding.

Yes. You get colour Maxidot as standard. Bluetooth connection is standard, and with Columbus iPod connection is standard, therefore you don't need the optional mitsumi cable connection
