  • Sorry, but stating something on a forum then putting - FACT after it is one of my pet hates! The fact is that 5 doors in citigos and ups haven't sold as well as the three doors. What the residuals

I'll fit in!

The cars on the sport suspension handle brilliantly and are fun to drive on a twisty road! certainly much better than your a4 would be or even an s3 for that matter. ,

Haha. Did you really say that?

I did. I've owned an s3 in the past. As standard didn't think the handling was great. Sure it was quick and gripped ok but it wasn't stellar.

As for the a4 ...... They handle as well as a boat, lol. I drove one for 6 weeks as a hire car once did a few thousand miles and wasn't impressed.

My Beemer (my car before the Citigo) handled far better than any of the above and even that wasn't as much fun as the Citigo, why? Firstly the Citigos steering is very direct and secondly on a lot of twisty roads you rarely get above 50mph so it's more fun to drive a slow car flat out that handles well rather than a fast car slowly.

Been a few times round the Nurburgring and I had the most fun in a chipped fiesta 1.4tdci ;)

So today was the day, mrs was surprised how big it actually was and thought it was smart. Kids preferred the Yeti! Took a bogo spec 60ps out for a drive with sales manager and my two little ones, it seem to go well, you had to work the engine no doubt and it did sound quite nice lol. We discussed spec, p/x etc and a deal was offered. We then went for lunch to discuss and decided...........

That it was exactly what we required!

So I've ordered a Monte Carlo, tornado red, safety pack, convenience pack, variable boot floor and spare wheel, 5 years warranty and 3 years servicing. Should be built and ready in 12 weeks.

When you are driving the car is doesn't actually feel that small. I can see it being used for some longer runs, the boot is also quite large.

It's going to be a long old wait but I wanted the extra toys lol

Thanks for all the input on this thread, it certainly helped make up my mind

Cheers

Mike

Glad you liked it. Thumbs up for the variable boot floor.

Good stuff. The car is fine on long journeys. I've done a few 200mile trips no problem.

they had a silver one in the showroom that looked really nice, I didn't want to spend £500 extra on it though. They would have done me a deal on the showroom car but it didn't have any options other than the paint. Three months is a long time to wait :-( Hopefully my current car won't die before as they gave me a reasonable p/x valuation

so I've just phoned through and added the easy release front seats with memory on the drivers side, I think it would get really annoying having to readjust the seat every time I let someone in! Can't think of anything else to add.

Metallic Silver [emoji6]

So just taxed my A4, £25 per month! I need my citigo now!!!!!!!!!

Lol, we're in the same boat mike, although my tax isn't due till next month, it'll hurt just as much. Mine needs a new tyre as well, but i'm seriously contemplating 'hiding' it on the back for now.

One which may help you, and others, Sainsbury's are offering 10p off a litre of fuel with £30 spend in store, the voucher lasts for 2 weeks as well.

yeah I just put two new tyres on my A4, wasn't planning on getting rid this year at all lol. Never mind! Let me know when you get a delivery date.

I've been given a build week which is week 12, last week in March apparently! So possibly a mid April delivery which would be great!!!! The sales guy didn't think there had been any changes to the window switches, but said he would let me know if he hears differently. I have a feeling it's only cars with electric mirrors that had the update.

Build day to collection day for my Sport was 4 weeks.

Week 12 is the third week in March ie two weeks away. Mid April is about right for delivery.

I think we ordered on the same day Mike?, i'm wondering how they work it in the factory, is it a case of build a load or red ones then white etc, or is it a load of s's then se's then monte's?, or is it in order of ordering?  Did the dealer contact you or you him?, I've asked mine to email me rather than call as I work away a lot and paying £1.50/min to receive calls starts to be a pain.

I was kind of in no rush for a new car, apart from fuel costs mines fine at the moment, but now I've ordered one I want it NOW!!!,  lol.

I emailed him last week for an update. I ordered mine last Sunday, it was the third citigo they sold that day lol.

I know what you mean about being impatient, he did say second week in May originally, so anytime sooner will be a bonus. Just hope my current car doesn't have a catastrophic failure in the mean time, as I am P/Xing it!

It'll all be good I'm sure and I think you'll get it earlier than that [emoji106]
