Did the Sport always come with a PID?

Featured Replies

Some of the used ones I've seen don't mention it, so I'm not sure if it was an option that they never picked, or it's since been lost or kept by a previous owner.

I think only the Elegance came with PID, all others it was an option. That was at the time I ordered mine, 2012 things may have changed since.

Standard in the Black Edition :)

Standard on the sport too.

Yes definitely standard on the Sport and Monte Carlo.

is it a good option? Can you Bluetooth stream music from an iphone using it?

It's definitely worth it. The sat navigation is handy as is the ability to play music from an sd card but the best but is being able to stream music via Bluetooth. Imho the call quality via Bluetooth is useless though!

The Garmin PID is a great thing to have. Music,Nav,SD card and Bluetooth all in one [emoji106]

I wouldn't like to be without one.

Cheers. If we do get one, we'll make sure it has the PID (or a suitable large reduction in price).

what are the stereos like in the citigos? The monte carlo comes with the extra 4 loud speakers apparently

I love the sound system in my Sport the quality is great. 100% better than my Rapid was.

Most of them only get front speakers as standard, so not stunning.

I'd have no issues fitting some aftermarket ones in the rear to sort that out.

The sports and montes are really good as std as they have the extra speakers if you are gonna get an se or elegance I'd get the sound pack ahead of any other option , the sound quality is a bit pants without it.

6 speaker system and PID standard in the Sport

6 speaker system and PID standard in the Sport

6??? Really? Only got 4 in the Monte Carlo. :-(

Do you not have the 2 tweeters in the a pillars??

doors, a pillar and rear = 6

standard cars just have the two door speakers

I thought there were just 2 in the door and 2 tweeters in the A pillars; didn't realise there were 2 in the rear as well. I really should pay more attention; just checked and the Entertainment pack was 'Additional 4 speakers' not '4 speakers'; very happy with the sound quality though.

Yes 2 in the rear side panels and can take some serious base too [emoji106][emoji4]

Have an SE with only 2 speakers :( Wanted the entertainment pack but wasn't willing to wait. 2 speakers is ok as it's just me in the car. Bought a Garmin PID brand new in box unopened on fleabay from an elegance owner who said he had a Satnav and didn't need another. He obviously didn't realize just what the PID is. Use mine everyday with iphone. Telephone calls, music streaming, 32GB card in side of PID with all my itunes as well. Love the Car info and use this the most. Used as a SATNAV rarely lol.

I think you'll find looking at second hand models, if they did originally come with the PID it's likely the original owners might of sold them privately to gain a bit of extra money back

My Garmin is throwing a wobbler at the moment [emoji57]

And wouldn't play music from iPhone. - gremlins ;)

Next question - is there any obvious reason not to consider a Mii Sport as well?

I know the seats don't look as colourful but it does come with the 75bhp engine and they seem to be slightly more plentiful on autotrader.

If you can get one for a good deal then I'd get whatever you like the most. You get different kit on the mii and they don't come with the front splitter and rear diffuser so imo don't look quite as good but it depends on what you want at the end of the day.
