Engine oil

Featured Replies

As above has any body used castrol edge oil, doing an oil and filter tomorro says its suitable for the skoda any thoughts.

Whatever oil you use whether Joe Bloggs or a brand name, just ensure it's the correct grade of oil for your vehicle.

Personally I would not use castrol edge , mobil1 or she'll helix I'm sure I seen somewhere that castrol wasn't as good as it's cracked up to be ?

Suitable, yes. The best, no. Castrol make their synthetic oil out of petroleum base stock and call it synthetic. Mobil (for example) make their synthetic oil in the true sense of the word (as do Shell) so their oil is a much more stable and capable oil.

Edit: As above..

Used Valvoline last time seemed ok, as the car likes a drink and its changed every 4000 miles will give castrol a miss then.

You put she'll helix or mobil1 in it and she will stop drinking oil
