Buying Correct Jack for Octavia 3

Featured Replies

I know that Skoda are using a scissor type jack on the Octavia 3 now, I did manage to buy a suitable spare wheel some months ago from an Audi A4 but it came with the standard VW/ Audi jack as used on older Octavia's, which I gather is best not used on the newer model. I've seen a scissor jack advertised on eBay pretty cheaply which says it is compatible with the Octavia, I'm assuming that it should be okay with the Octavia 3 but can't ask the seller directly as they annoyingly don't answer questions on any if their items!

The ebay listing number is 300804490349, if anyone more knowledgeable than I who actually has the correct jack, could confirm if this jack is suitable for my car? It isn't very expensive, so might risk it anyway but wouldn't want to risk damaging my car by using the wrong kind of jack, I've enclosed a photograph from the listing.

Capacity is 1 tonne, car is more than this.

There is an option to ask questions near the bottom of the listing

The car isn't cheap, why to search a cheap jack? The original set doesn't cost a fortune and has everything:

Part number: 5E0093860. Set contains:

• Lifting jack
• Spanner
• Tool box
• Fixative belt
• Screw and matrix for fastening the wheel

Yes the car is more than 1 tonne but you'd never get more than a third to at most half the weight of the car being carried by a jack of that type. Unless of course you try and place it under the centre and lift the whole car, lol.

That jack should be fine.
