Roomster Coilovers...

Featured Replies

Just checking... not many options on roomster but are Polo 9n the same???

Namely for an 08 plate Roomster 1.9tdi...

Weitec were the only option I could find when I wanted mine. Hicon GT I opted for resulting in about an 80mm drop.

Yes, I have a Neuspeed RARB fitted, one of the first performance mods on the car after the 312mm brakes.

Wheels are OEM 17" Skoda Kentaur rims, not quite as 'prominent' as the track rims.......1398552717248_zpsifj6eksy.jpg

Yep spotter the Weitec. How is the ride on rough roads? Hoping to achieve nearly as smooth as factory but just lowered... more than 40mm ha ha.

My car is minus the ESP control,so I've been toying with fitting the rear roll-bar to tame down that top heavy twitch on turn in.

I won't pretend the ride isn't 'stiff' on the coilovers with 17's but it's nothing that I'm not used to, and IMHO no worse than when it was at 'tractor' height.

It is noticeably softer on the ride when running the winter 16" rims so this could be a good compromise for you.

The Neuspeed RARB is the mod you're after then IMHO. The car becomes much more planted and gives far greater confidence on turn in with it fitted.

Pics of it fitted and adjustability below. 3 settings and relatively easy to clamp over the rear beam. It is actually the part for a MK1 Octavia as (to my knowledge) there are no model specific items for the Roomster.

Cheers Jonny.

Agreed on wheel/tyre size. I've had a few stiff cars in the past and gone from 40 to 45 profile with a massive difference in comfort.

Looks like Weitec are now rebranded as ST but come with a 2 year warranty under the KW flag. Might have to be the ones.

It'd be where my money would go if I were in the market again.

I sourced mine through Damian at DPM (site sponsor) who did at the time have a price match offer

Oh, and get some pictures up once she's dropped

No worries, plenty of information in my build thread.

I bought the bar 2nd hand and it was painted red. I sanded it back and sprayed with zinc galvanizing spray to help stop corrosion.

Still unsure of I want to go coilovers or a Bilstein kit for the Roomster. Only problem is that the only kits listed as readily available for the roomster are Koni or KW or ST By KW...

Do we know if the Roomster (2008 model) shares exactly the same suspension as a Mk2 Fabia? Or Polo or Audi A1 etc...

I understand the front is MK2 Fabia and rear is based on the MK1 Octavia

Thanks Chris. I suspected that was definitely the case for the front end. And I did seem to find a few crossing part numbers for the rear with a Seat Toledo oddly...

Sent an email to Bilstein to see if they can confirm.
