Does anyone know for sure whether Apple CarPlay will come to Fabia III? I remember reading somewhere that it will not be available at launch but should follow at a later date. Then on talking to a salesman I was told that it'll probbably never be available? I'm confused, why the sudden change. Seems daft to offer it for some smartphone owners and then deny a huge amount of others? Especially when VW seems to be planing to offer CarPlay across the board?

As I lost my interrest in how these digital gadgets work decades ago - to me its just tools that should work - its even meaningless to even guess where the problem is, but lets guess its a software problem that will be solved as so many people are addicted to apple.

VAG probably dont want to loose a whole segment of customers caused by a missing link..

Test drove a Fabia 3 this afternoon and the sales man said it would be on cars ordered in July onwards. Think it comes with an associated cost as does anything with the word apple in it.

Dont know if this applies to Mirror link, but Mirror link wont work with an iPhone until build week 22

As they don't plan on having satnav as an option the only way to get it is buy having it on your phone - so it would need to be compatible with my phone in order to use my satnav and display it on the car display.

I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for it, it's usually something to do with Apple licensing etc. but it's worth the extra to me as Apple is a closed Eco system which prevents bugs and viruses from being distributed hidden as an genuine app.
