The FL Superb gets full LED rear light clusters so I imagine the cars are set-up to run LED's.

 

The pre-FL Laurin & Klement got rear LED tail lights (only tail and brake) but normal non-LED number plate lights.

 

I'm sure I saw a setting in mine on VCDS to select LED number plate lights?

I have just had an earlier VIN PM's to me.... 

 

 Checking n ETOS it does not show the LED lamps for that car, so it sounds like the last comment was correct, later cars can have them fitted, earlier one's need a little more work :(

 

Mine does have the LED rear lamps already... may have a word with the dealer to see how easy it would be to get them put in mine

As above..... See my post #11..... For some reason the VCDS option to change number plate lighting to LED doesn't work on the pre FL Superb as I have found out..... I've since found numerous other posts saying the same thing.

But these were aftermarket LED bulbs right, rather than the sealed OEM LED light units?

 

I was wondering if the setting in VCDS was for the OEM set-up rather than simply replacing the halogen festoon bulbs with LED equivalents...

The one's i used were CANBUS compatible but still flagged the error..... I know vrsadz has the actual VW units fitted and he still needed the resisters fitting as well.... His is a 10 plate Superb twindoor.

Some comeback from myself.... I bought the bulbs that Numskull used and they threw up the bulb error on the dash. Then i had the numberplate setting changed to LED via VCDS and they worked for a day before then throwing up the error again so i've gone back to the original normal bulbs. :(

What need to coding(set) in VCDS for the LED light?

2011 Superb Elegance Estate...

 

I have VCDS and had the option to code LED licence plate in VCDS. Fitted SKoda LED lights and bulb warning still came on...

 

It is hit and miss...Some like LED and can be coded out, some wont accept the change in code even when they have the option in VCDS.
