Those 'sell' thoughts are creeping in

Featured Replies

Some may know I bought a new vrs combi a couple of months ago and quite quickly discovered I started suffering with lower back ache.

I bought some new 'elegance' front seats off a forum member and tried fitting them but unfortunately my back ache prevails.

I LOVE this car but those niggling thoughts are starting to creep in about selling it  :| and I know from past experience that this could snowball

I'm not sure what else I would buy really - the Octavia is the obvious choice but I'm not sure if it would have the character of the twincharged fabia.

Hmmmm

See a Chiropractor might be cheaper!

Other solutions : take that bulging wallet out of your back pocket or buy a ageing persons cushion . SIMPLES!

Sad to hear that the seats didn't ease the problem - hope you find something soon that can sort it

Yeah they deffo helped me Brian.

Anyways I had a proper blast in it tonight - a rare moment without having the children in with me so I opened the taps. Wow - these cars MUST put out more than 180hp. The acceleration is magic.

The car is going nowhere - Best stock up on the co-codamol!

Yes the seats have helped. I don't think the seats have caused the problem, I have an underlying injury from the rugby days and the seats seemed to exasperate it.

Do you have heated seats? I've been suffering from back issues recently and the heated seats help to just take the edge off a bit.

I have heated seats on my vrs (very good)no back problems.sorry to change the subject but last night I was at the traffic lights on inside lane and mini cooper s on outside lane and we looked at each other and the race was on(tc off and foot down and left him for dead and at the next set he didn't bother racing)wow this car is quick off the mark cthe.(I am thinking of buying another one).

Sure it was a bloke driving the Mini? It's usually women that drive them their mini's  :p

No heated seats.....yet  :nerd:

Why do some people think because you drive a vRS you have to compete in the traffic light Grand Prix every time a fast car pulls up along side you. Like the Lotus a couple of weeks ago, the Mini probably couldn't be @rsed to shred his tyres keeping up with a Skoda but hang on in there kid, someone will one day.

I take it those 'sell' thoughts aren't creeping in then ;)

Humble apologies to Wakey for derailing your thread, and I sincerely hope you can sort your back problem out without taking the inevitable hit in selling the car

But it's been worth it, just so that you're safe in the knowledge you're in possession of a Mini Cooper S-slaying beast of a car

:)

Oh dear.

Guess you've not read the forum rules about this sort of thing ;)

Nope I shall not be selling it.

There's just too many good bits about it. Plus I'm not entirely convinced by changing it that my back ache will go away.

I'm just getting on a bit and the aches and pains are surfacing.

Brian - I hope things are progressing ok with the treatment

Well then, maybe you should buy his.

Oh wait...

Well that's that then. You're going to have to buy a Mini.

I would rather eat my own hands than buy a Mini

If I could hit the 'like' button a hundred times I would.

No, I meant the other guy. Not you. Don't worry. I wouldn't have one given my self. I drove one when I was doing a stunt driving thing one day and the best thing about the car was it had a special handbrake extension put on that held the button in for handbrake turns.

If its lower back pain have you tried those lumbar supports you can get? i used to have one on my mk1 fabia as i used to get back pain on long journeys.

I know it might make you feel old, but don't do Recaro do a specific orthopaedic version of one of their seat designs......might be worth looking into

Yep they do, as well as some of their buckets with tilt and recline functions
