Problem with Nokia Lumia 930 and bluetooth media player

Featured Replies

Hello,

I would like tu use Bluetooth media player function in my Skoda Rapid Spaceback 2014 with my Nokia Lumia 930 Windows Phone. Phone Bluetooth communication Works as it should, but media player doesn't seems to work. I have the latest updates on my Windows Phone, I have also tried to reset it to factory defaults, but Media Player function still doesn't work.

Any idea what to do?

Thank you!

Best wishes,

Marko

On my moto g I have to start playing music on it first before I can select the Skoda-BT option on the media button, have you tried that? I use the google play app which seems to work fine.

I have the answer... change your phone. my nokia lumia would ot play via bluetooth with my amundsen and neither would the phonebook show up on it. the reason? the bluetooth in vag cars is to the phone sim. wimdows (lumia) phones will not save to sim. if you examine your phone menus you can export all on sim to phome, but you cannot reverse this. microsoft want you to use their cloud services in order to swap phones, so sim saving is disallowed.

once I realised this I bought a samsung s5 mini and ditched the lumia. I took the sim from lumia, placed it in the s5 and would you believe it, there on my amundsen was my phonebook contacts. the lumia had not erased the sim contents, just hidden them.... absolute sods! so, got a skoda or vw? don't own a lumia phone! the samsung immediately bluetoothed fine with the car.

While I agree that the OP should dump the problematic Windows phone and replace it with either an iPhone or Android device, I have to disagree with your stated reason for his problem. I have all my contacts on my iPhone saved to phone memory - I have nothing saved to the SIM. Car imports all that data just fine.

As for Bluetooth streaming, like Shorty I have to start playing before the BT-Audio menu option is presented on my Swing.

if you go into the Bluetooth settings there is a "advanced" button, it says "use alternate Bluetooth audio connection for speech"

this cured a number of streaming issues for my Lumia 925 with the wifes PID in her citigo

worth a try,

any software update for the radio?

Are you running Lumia Denim?

I have a 925 and when I test drove the Rapid I couldn't seem to get media player to connect so I did some research an found I wasn't running denim which brings "Bluetooth carkit integration" since I'm in Australia my service provider was still testing that firmware but you can get it direct from Microsoft. How to link here :http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/software/operating-systems/8087/how-to-get-windows-phone-81-download-and-install-the-developer,

After I installed I booked another test drive an ta-daaa! It worked. I took delivery in February of my white rapid sport an haven't missed a beat since. Let me know how you go I a bit of a windows phone geek...

I am using the 920 on a daily basis. it used to stream music well pre-denim update, and still continues to after the update.

try this:

Sol1:

while the phone is connected, ensure that you are in the BT media player mode, once there, make a call from your phone, and then end the call. it should start playing. the RCD 320 sometimes freezes and fails to detect the BT MP of the phone.

Sol2:

unpair and pair again. switch off car and wait 2 minutes before turning it on.

Above solutions have worked for me.
