2011 octavia with an Amundsen sat nav

Bought a 2011 octavia with an Amundsen (not the + ) fitted , been told by skoda, no update for the maps, it has v3 which r 2011 maps . Is this right .? . Found a bosh / Tom Tom sd card on eBay which has 2014 maps on it and says it work in this sat nav, anyone got 1 of these , r can anyone point me in the right direction to get up 2 date maps

Not true at all, the latest maps for the Amundsen (RNS 310) are v7 (2015).

 

Earlier versions (V1-V4) are CD only, later versions (V5-V7) are SD card only, this is an 8GB sd card that cannot be copied and leaves about 3GB free for music. 

 

You can either for to v4 for about £40 (before VAT + shipping), these are UK only.

I grabbed my v6 maps from that site without any issues. When I spoke to a dealer they wanted £250 for the v7 maps!

Why are they so expensive ?

I have this on the key.

Anyone know what it is and what its for please..

Is it anything to do with satnav  ?

No its nothing to do with the sat nav.

Looks like a key tag to me, I think a garage I’ve used had them, used when they put the keys in a key safe.
