Dynamic bend light vRS

Featured Replies

I can't see it working :-( How should I enable it? The lights swivel and go up and down when I switch on the ignition, so I know the motors are functioning. I have gone into the settings via 'mode' and set it at 'Sport' and 'Normal'. Should I be able to see the headlights turn as I go round corners? 'Cause they don't in either 'Sport' or 'Normal'.

Makes me wonder if they are knacked..

Is there a Setting on the Radio ( Car settings ), maybe it needs a tick in the box, perhaps it's been unticked

Just a thought

Comment on your VRS button set the personal

Settings up so that the AFS works in sports mode.

You'll see it then.

Hmmmm. "Bendy lights" and "Setting on the Radio", this conversation could well be taking place in the Day Room of an OAP's home, pass the port I need a drink QUICK.

They only work in Sport mode on mine and noticeably move very quick from left to right, much faster than on my previous Yeti.  They don't seem to work on Eco but you can set the lighting in individual settings to Sport and leave the rest in Eco, which is what I have done.

You should be able to see them working. I love mine. Iam a big kid though!

Mine seem to work in normal. They definitely turn quickly and as I didn't realise the car had them, was firstly pleased and then impressed as they sweep around as you turn on sharp bends. What I thought was a gimmick is actually a good safety feature.

Mine work in normal mode on my vrs. The beam pattern is excellent. I noted on start up that mine go left right twice then up and down. Why go left and right twice when doing a system check? My dads tts with Afs only did a beam sweep once in each direction.

I think they are too intrusive in sport mode but great in normal driving mode.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk the free non retired version!

Make sure you have the lights set to the correct side of the road for your country - i.e. assuming you're UK or left side driving based, it needs to be set to 'Left Side Traffic', if the beam is set to the incorrect side then the AFS is disactivated (manual explains this).

Mine do their normal startup check (up down left right).
In normal mode they definitely work, in sport mode the movement is much more responsive/reactive. It is noticeable when driving through town, but works best on unlight country roads. I thought the normal halogen on our previous Audi were crap and that the Xenons on my Scirocco were great, but this is just another class.

I only had to activate the intelligent light assist via the infotainment system, AFS should work "out of the box". If you can't see them on dark roads in sport mode then there is definitely something wrong with them.

On the other hand I am disappointed in the cornering lights though (the one that shine into the path when doing less than 30kmh) The Scirocco ones are in the headlight unit and shine much better than the foglight-similar solution in the Octy.

Cheers for the advise chaps, I will have a look tonight when I get chance to drive down some twistys in the dark.

But they only work when lights are set to Auto, right? Is the OP sure he hasn't just left his lights on the regular low beam setting?

Yep, light switch needs to be on Auto

Yup, true. Mine are on Auto as well. I forgot to mention it, but now I remember that I set them to Auto, even though I prefer to have them on most of the time. The fact that that setting then disables pretty much all the light-assist features is annoying though.

Bingo! Its witchcraft, I tell thee. They are now working :-)
