ACC :: Does it replace standard cruise control?

Featured Replies

So still waiting on a build date for my vRS TSI. Not much to do but peruse the forums and read the manual in anticipation.

But one thing is quite unclear to me (and if you see my past topics, this is not the only thing nor will be the last - I appreciate the patience and courtesy I've been shown here!)...

...I am to get both Front Assistant and ACC. The manual states that ACC is handled via a separate stalk.

But does this mean that if you have ACC you do not have standard (regular) cruise control? Or do you get both?

Thanks!

Acc replaces std cruise. It's on a different stalk as above.

There is no standard cruise control if you ordered ACC.

Thank you both. The manual does little to explain this, and the local dealer is, as usual, of little help.

Apparently, no one has yet ordered that option on an Octavia locally.

So if the radar fails or gets clogged up with snow you can't even use old school CC?

The manual recommends using de-icing spray.

It's been only 24 hours since my car was delivered, but I can honestly say that I am very happy I ordered ACC. Very nice feature to have.

Yeah Ive read the manual a few times already :)

I got ACC on mine, very useful of my regular short-ish drives between MK and Northampton. I like it so much I think I want it on every car I get from now on.

Caused the salesman to panic a bit when my car was delivered to the dealer as he didn't see the usual cruise control markings on the stalk, he didn't realise ACC had its own stalk.
