Community help for adaptive cruise control retrofit

Featured Replies

Hello fellow Skoda Octavia MK3 users!

I am from India and I own a Skoda Octavia MK3 2.0 TDI DSG. The engine code is CRVC.

I have got an itch to retrofit atleast adaptive cruise control with autonomus braking in my car. I have approached some retrofitters in India and their response about the retrofit is far from great. They provide no transparency in what needs to be changed, their quotes vary largely, some say my ABS module has to be changed and some say it can be done without ABS module change. All this has left me utterly confused and I am doubting their knowledge in executing such a retrofit.

That is why I turn to you, the community.

I am specifically looking for VCDS or OBDeleven scans of your cars if you Octavia has any of the following.

  1. Front assist,

  2. Front collision warning

  3. Adaptive cruise control

  4. Lane assist with adaptive cruise control

  5. pACC

My doubts are specifically regarding

  1. Which radar should I opt for, the round Long range radar or the square medium range radar. I confused about the FeC SWAP code part because I have read that Medium range radar require FeC and SWAP codes to activate them and my cars infotainment that MIB2 technisat does not have any option to put FeC or SWAP codes

  2. Does my Can bus gateway need to be upgraded? I want to know if I can just get away with just upgrading the firmware of my gateway module which is 1240 or do i upgrade the gateway to gateway high.

  3. Does my ABS module needs changing. Nuje from tdiclub and one other guy from drive2.ru say that my ABS module is ok, but one very reputed retrofiter in India says I will have to change ABS module if I require braking and not just rely on engine braking.

By reading your car scans, may be I can figure out some answers so that I can make a more informed decision about choosing a retrofitter for carrying out the job.

I am also attaching my car's obdeleven scan so that you can also have a look.

Thanks in advance
