Afternoon all

Recently joined the forum. And inextricably linked to that i also recently ordered a new mk3 octavia vrs in rallye green. Got a little carried away with the options. From the tracking website it looks like it's getting built this week so starting to get excited.

I've had a quick look on the forums already. Particularly interested in thoughts on getting my new car detailed - had a quote for £500, trying to weigh up whether it's an investment or not.

In any case looking forward to taking part in the discussions.

Hi there...

i know...£500 when you've just stumped up to buy a new car seems a little beyond me. They were going to use a wash, clay, machine polish followed by gtechniq to protect interior, windows, wheels. I believe it's a lot of work but not sure my budget will stretch to that.

I'd shop around as £500 seems very high to me. My view is that £200 would be a more realistic amount to pay for a full external detail and internal protection. What were they going to put on the outside?

Edit:forgot to add post a thread in the styling and care section about the cost to see what the experienced detailers on here think

Thanks for the advice. I'll put a post on the styling section.

In terms of what they were going to use on the outside, aside from the gtechniq protection plan was to use a menzerna power Lock sealant followed by the color lock wax. Doesn't mean a lot to me tbh.
