Yesterday i was at the front of a set of traffic lights(this isnt a My Skoda beat a xxxxx story), it was a single lane but just wide enough to fit two cars. on the inside of me, near clipping my wing mirror a car squeezed alongside me.

Looking across I seen it was a BMW with a trade plate on the dash with a stereotypical salesman looking person in the drivers seat(Sunglasses in the rain :)).

I put my passengers window down to give him some verbal and make sure he knew it was a single lane, he got as far as putting his window down and the lights changed.

I thought I'm not going to let this @rse cut me up so decided to briskly pull away from the lights, still with my window down and me going full chatter i just heard the most beautifull engine noise ever from my open window, and as this black rocket passed me on the inside i just saw 4 talpipes and an M6 badge on the back.

Oh how silly i felt, but what an amazing looking car, never seen one in the flesh, let alone heard one. I think if i came into a bit of cash I would seriously consider one as a daily driver.

At this point I would have liked to point out that some stereotypes are nearly always true, and my personal belief that BMW's are driven by the very worst, most pretentious drivers is proven to me almost every time I drive. However I'm not going to because I've typed that up a lot of times and it'd be boring. :)

Yes, 6 series not too bad, but really think BMW styling left the fashionable end of the street after the 3 series E30, and the old 6 Series.

The 6 is the only one (M5 excepted) that I like out of the current crop on offer.

Much preferred the last 3 and 5 design.

BigW,I too have forgotten to press my vRS 'warp' button before now and been embarrassed. It should be more clearly marked.

Bad luck man...

BMW's.. YUK! The only good things about BMW's are that they are rear wheel drive!

Don't understand what people see in BMW's they can be fairly quick agree but they are so basic inside its un-real.

Oh yes, and plus the fact that most of the BMW drivers are want to be racing drivers but the best thing they can drive is a 'Scalatrix car'!!

I don't know what kind of Beemers you've been sitting in, but in no way are they basic.

Mmmm Says it all really, I would've followed it to the dealers and had it out with his manager!

BMW do on occasion make some good cars (E30 M3), pity they are spoiled by the twonks that drive them!

there was one up at knockhill just before we went on maybe he came looking for you :P

Over here BMW 3 series is one of the most common cars on the road. Often 316 or 318 in basic trim. :thumbdwn:

Hmmmmmm beamers......ten a penny motors driven by pretentious idiots.

:orb_clap:

hear, and if i might venture into the bargain, hear.

the ignorant 4x4 driver stereotype was thrust onto my lap the other day.

i shant bore you with the story tho'.

i think he is referring to the fact that you have to spend alot of money to get equipment that alot of other (present company included) manufacturers give away for nowt. they dont come with alot of kit as standard.

I have to agree on the stereotype BMW pilot, but the cars are hardly crap are they? Lets face facts here. The latest generation are ugly as sin, but the old 5 series was regarded as possibly the best drivers car in the world.

Skoda drivers are seen as old poeple with no taste and less money, does that mean the cars are crap?

Dunno. Wouldn't mind a BMW resale value though.

My mate has a new BMW 530D. Its awesome. The power delivery is instant and is the fastest diesel I've ever driven. Its the best large saloon car I've been in and hes changing it in March for a 535D !!

The 1 series still doesnt have aircon as standard, for example ;)

Best quote about beemers i heard " BMW the new Ford" :)

Hmm......BMW drivers.......:shakecan:

If I was going to have one it would be a 535d Estate, what a fantastic engine!

It is true that the lower end models are as basic as hell. My brother was going to have one but after seeing the spec. of the models he was allowed to go for he opted for a Passat. He then changed companies and was given an Octavia. :D

Ahhh....now me gets it. Well, BMW here is all the luxury **** you can find on the road, full of the new 7-series (45), 5 series (more 30s) and 3 series...the rarity is the 6 series, but it's becoming a regular thing to see an M6 and an M5 on the road here...and air con is standard on all cars here.

I din't know they still make the 318 and 316, I thought those were discontinued models.

I too saw my first M6 in the flesh today.... my god...i still have a stiffy there so so nice!

Joel

I saw the M6 last night! The toll bit was rather good :D

my point is proven, thank you.

Indeed :D

Hm, don't all of those little Skoda Fabia cars come with air con as standard these days? ;)

That's because they're cheaper than peanuts :D
