Thanks for the bump I guess...lol. Yes I am still around (although not as much as before). I still have the might wagon/estate however it has not seen the track this year after 2 straight state hillclimb class titles. At present I can confirm that the motor is sitting at around 53000 kms with no real issues (3/4 of those kilometres running a stage 2 APR tune). On a different note I can also confirm that a full size refrigerator will fit in the back with back seats down and bottom cushions removed as I did this just last week.

Depending on how things pan out in the future there may be more to come in a year or so once I address a few other life projects. In short still a very happy vRS owner.

Fabia mk2 vRS only come with dsg's and there have never been any shown as having had a manual box fitted.     In hillclimbs the 1,390cc twin charger will possibly be in the 2.0 litre turbo class.     They do well,   but you might went to use the hand brake when setting off.  Not brake pedal and throttle.

By all means S27 VEJ your vehicle is not at a disadvantage just because it has a DSG gearbox. From my experience the only vehicles in my class that has had better reaction times then myself in hillclimbs is a old school beetle with a  2000cc plus motor sitting on top of the rear axle in my state series class.

Yes I would be beaten by the odd Honda Civic or CRX that has a stripped out interior and a oversized Mugen block (2.4l or 2.0l racing motor) over a 2.0 km course. But as a daily the Fabia vRS would always come out on top as everything in my car still works. As a suggestion. Put more money into buying better suspension first. The bilstien shocks with eibach spring are awesome together but go to Bilstien coilovers if you need to build something special.

XDS has never been changed so still on the factory setting.

I like the way the car turns in as it is with very minimal understeer. However I do have a big problem with smoking up the tyres when exiting the corners. So a torsen limited slip differential and kevlar clutch kit is a must do before any more power is considered. With luck that may happen next year.

Nice to see you're still enjoying it - Can I ask a couple of questions - did the CAI only fit AFTER you got the small er battery? and how did you source the battery? I can't find anywhere that will straight up say they have the right

I have Vogtland coilovers and a full Whiteline kit including bushes and links waiting to be fitted when I get a day off. I'm not looking at hill climbs, more street sprints where the car still needs to be legal to drive. Does the down pipe not lead to noise in excess of the street limit? (and I have that ceramic pipe bookmarked already)

Hi Steve! (greenfabia)

You can upgrade the clutch AND the diff in Fabia? The diff seems more or less something I would expect but I would have thought the clutch kit something fairly specialised. Who would make something like that?

Got anything on youtube of the Fabia in action?

This is the original CAVE motor. It was built in May 2012 (so last of the CAVE's) it has all of the CAVE updates before they stopped production. Still running the original spark plugs and internal. Only factory upgrade done was the breather valve mod done in December 2013. Currently just over 30,000km old.

Trying not to be annoying but getting reliable information in Oz has been difficult - by breather mod do you mean the GFB T9 mod or do you mean a different alteration to the piping there?

Great work, I like the ceramic coating, great idea.

I wish you went for tuned exhaust headers, this is where the power lays really, still, great job!

Let us have your dyno curves to slobber over!

Any link or source for these headers? or are they something that a workshop would simply manufacturer custom?

'HP Performance' In Australia for Software & Clutch Packs for the DQ200 DSG / 1.4 TSI 132 kw.

In the Fabia Projects section, worth a look is .

'Fabia RS Trackday & Auto-X project.'

HP had some sort of major falling out with APR so don't offer anything from them anymore so HP now only do the VW OEM+ tune with a bigger price and no proven history in our climate. Clutch packs are no better, just marked up VW parts. Australia pays through the nose on most things but car parts are extra nasty.

I had HP Clutch packs and software on & in a Twinchargers DSG 4 years ago but never paid anything like the advertised prices.

?

What is the VW OEM+ tune all about?

I must have got the wrong person. They weren't interested in discussing price at all. Maybe I need to go in there.

The OEM+ is VW racing's own program but not much information available outside of VW on it
