I did seriously consider the celerio, but the day I was going in for the test drive they all got recalled for having no brakes.   Then I started looking at Citigos .... and here I am

The Suzuki comes very well kitted out with tech to be fair, but its just not a good brand for cars.  I had a drive in an Alto, horrible little thing, a light breeze could probably have ripped it in half.

The Swift Sport is a fantastic little car.

Drove a swift several years ago and it was a good car. Can't help but feel the Citigo is really good value. Looked at a good spec Adam or 500 or fiesta and they are way more than a monte.

Just wish mine would hurry up and arrive.

Was dead set on getting a brand new pre reg alto for 6k, bargain I thought, and then I actually went with the missus to look at one and dear God, I didn't think cars like these could still be sold these days. The reviews are too kind, really didnt feel safe in it at all, terrible interior. Ended up getting the ex demo Mii for the same price and despite some issues I have to remind myself of what I could have ended up with.

had exactly the same situation, decided I wanted a car and saw the price of the 6k alto and decided that was that then il get an alto - then we went for a drive in it and it really was just horrible.

I think I watched so many YouTube vids of the Alto that I really felt confident that it would be fine, hadn't even thought of the triplets but the difference in quality was astounding, especially in the budget category.

Be patient. Remember your 'first time'???

It is. I wish I'd bought that instead of the Rapid Sport. I could kick myself now [emoji19]

There is a supercharger kit available for the Swift now as well, makes it a serious warm hatch.

The Swift is nice, we had one once but its cramped in the back and has a small boot - fun on the twisties though.

I too considered a 'Celery' and then the brake re-call happened.

I must say I am enjoying the Citigo - when I am allowed to drive it - my wife loves it and has pronounced it 'her' car!  :D

I am impressed how well the Citigo drives when thrash around country lanes - and its a pleasant town cruiser too.

wonder where the fabia and citigo ended up this time

There are a lot of comparable cars out there but many of them have simply too many gadgets - unnecessary gadgets that you will rarely if ever use and then go wrong.

I remember hiring a Vauxhall Corsa just a few months after it was launched, it had everything with so many buttons that were simply a driving distraction. Most of the buttons were also cast-offs from other models.

Very happy with the Citigo, it does everything I want in comfort thank you.

swmbo had a citigo, loved it when she first got it, then gradually fell out of love with it, due to clutch click, problems with reverse, PID not liking her iPod after the first update and the list gradually got longer,

no real show stoppers, but agrowing list of minor niggles,

swapped in march for an i10 after only owning it for 18 months due to the salesman making an offer we couldn't refuse if we swapped my GLII for an i20 and her citigo for an i10, I could see it was not much of a difficult decision for her as there was not real resistance like she put up swapping her mk1 VRS for the citigo

Tell us how it goes when you try to swap Hyundai to another hyundai some day in the future. I bet it wouldn't be so easy. ;)

time will tell,

that will be the point I will also find out if the residuals are realistic, as they are purely a guess as there is no actual examples to go buy, this is the same for all new models no matter who manufacturers them

and I have the option of returning to the VAG fold as well

but that is nearly 3 years away, assuming the car performs as it is currently and the build quality holds up
