Does my car have auto wipers

Featured Replies

I have a 2014 superb tdf edition and for the life of my I can't understand the wipers....

I have a sensor in the screen behind the rear view mirror but can only seem to get intermittent wipe with them,if I put the stalk into the intermittent setting position 1 as in the manual they only wipe periodically and the wheel switch adjusts the timings as it should but if I chuck some water onto the sensor it doesn't make the wipers wipe they just wipe at the set periodic time.

Could it be a faulty sensor or do I just not have auto wipers,,,,I do have auto lights and dimming rear view mirror...

Perhaps you could try a garden hose with a spray attachment set on a low pressure to simulate rain.

I would think you do have them? Have you pushed the stalk up one notch?

Don't auto wipers replace the adjustable timing intermittent?  Do Skoda cars have both or just one or the other?  The two cars (not Skodas) that I have driven with auto wipers had the intermittent replaced by the auto.

^^^THIS

Just leave the wiper stalk one notch up & let the technomology do its thang!

If it's the same as my MKIII Vrs the auto wipe sensivity setting in on top of the wiper stalk.

Disclaimer:- I think

The first notch should be the variable wipe on mine, the selector on the top "should" and I say "should" alter the sensitivity of the wipers..... Honest... it is a bit "hit and miss" if I put it to the far left they seem to wipe as and when needed, any other position they may or may not be variable or on all the time... no real pattern

AND... I have had a new sensor fitted to cure a light issue, which has fixed the lights coming on in sun, and made the wipers slightly better, but not perfect.

The Skoda Superb Tour De France in based on the Outdoor spec.

Therefore auto wipers are not standard, the rain sensor is a £175 factory option.

As a result the first position on the wiper stalk is a standard intermittent setting. The sliding toggle switch on top of the stalk simply alters the time in-between wipes.

Find someone with VCDS, the sensor is fitted (as you have auto lights) just not activated to detect rain, so the auto wipers feature simply needs activating...

I'd like to see if I could get the rain sensor working on my Superb.  Does it affect the warranty if you change this?
